Ellen's POV:
I was in the cab for about three hours and the phone was finally done charging. I unplugged it from the charger and dialed Patrick's number as soon as possible. The phone rang and rang and it went straight to voicemail.
"Hey, it's Patrick Dempsey. Please leave your name and phone number and I'll get back to you as soon as I can." and the long-dreaded beep played after I heard his charming voice.
"Hey Patrick, it's me, Ellen. I was able to find a cab with a phone charger and I'm on my way to your house. I'm probably about 2 and 1/2 hours away but I'll be there no later than 7 o'clock. I'll see you there. Bye, Patrick.", and I ended the call.
I put the phone in my lap and I looked out the car window and thought about what is happening in my life. I thought, 'how come no one found me laying on the side of the road for almost 3 hours. I mean come on. I star on the Television show Grey's Anatomy and everyone loves Derek and me together. I just can't get over the fact that no one saw me on the side of the road.' I looked at the GPS in the cab and saw we had a little more than 2 hours left. I laid my head on the window and I decided to rest my eyes.
Patrick's POV:
After getting off the phone with Ellen I decided to drive home and let Jillian know what is happening.
I arrived home and I walked into the door with Talula watching Dora the Explorer and the twins were being fed by Jillian.
"Hey, babe. How was your hike with Ellen?", Jillian said to me as I walked and sat down next to her to help her feed the twins.
"Hi. We need to talk as soon as you're available.", I said in a very serious tone. Not even answering the question she asked about the hike with Ellen.
"Okay.", Jillian said.
About 15 minutes later, Jillian and I were done feeding the twins. We put them down for a nap and we asked Talula if she could play with her dolls in her room for a few minutes. After we convinced her to go play in her room, Jillian and I sat down in our living room. I decided it was now appropriate to tell Jillian what really happened with my hike with Ellen.
"So you never answered my question about the hike. What really happened out there?", asked Jillian.
"Jillian, don't assume anything. I didn't even see Ellen today. When Ellen and I were on the phone last night, she quickly ended the call. I guessed that Chris heard her while we were talking on the phone. I was about 20 minutes away from the park and I got a call from Chris's phone and I was really confused. So I answered the phone and Ellen was on the other side. She told me that Chris basically drove away with Ellen for 6 hours. Luckily she was able to escape and now she is trying to find out where she is and hopefully I will hear from her soon.", I told Jillian.
"Oh my god.", Jillian said to me.
I knew Ellen should be calling me soon so I tried to find my phone in the house but I couldn't find it there so I went out to my car. I opened my car door and I found my phone in the cupholder. I picked it up and saw a voicemail from Ellen. 'Shit' I thought to myself. I looked at the time to see when the voicemail was sent. The time 3:52 appeared right next to her name. I looked at the current time and it was 4:02. 'Damn, I missed her call only by 10 minutes'. I was about to hit the 'return call' button but then I heard tires hit the concrete and I looked up and saw this car pull into my driveway, almost running me over.
Chris's POV:
I went back into my car after grabbing some drinks and food from the gas station. I went back into my car and Ellen was nowhere to be found. I drove away in a hurry and looked everywhere for her since we were in San Francisco and it was broad of daylight, I could find her beautiful figure anywhere.
I drove around for hours and she was nowhere to be found. 'San Francisco is a huge city, she could be anywhere', I thought to myself. I decided to drive back to Los Angeles hoping she should be back at home. I drove back for 6 hours, trying to think where Ellen could be.
I arrived at home thinking she would be there. I practically tore the whole house trying to look for her but I couldn't find her anywhere. I thought, 'Which of her friends would've been on the phone last night'.
The man's name that I hated the most entered my head.
Patrick Dempsey.
