Ed Sheeran:

"Everything will brighten up. If we go to Brighton I'll take you along the pier. Everything will lighten up. If you feel too frightened I'll make it disappear."

Exactly two weeks had gone by.

He was slowly knocking her walls down; she could feel it. The thick and strong walls that took twenty years to build were slowly crumbling beneath him and she could do nothing. He had broken down her walls without her even noticing and when he built them again, he had added windows to let the sunshine in.

She knew how dangerous this was; she was playing with fire with this. She was now vulnerable as ever, but when it came to Zayn, Juliana was powerless. She was worried over what this would lead to. People are supposed to be selfish; they wanted something out of everything. What did he want from this? What if she ends up terribly hurt? These fears were eating her alive, but she could do nothing.

She wanted him; it was as simple as that. She wanted him in the bluntest way. She wanted his lips, his hands, his arms. She wanted him the way the ocean wants the shore, constantly reaching and running back; she wanted him the way rain wants to fall, the way sun wants to shine, the way words want to be read... she wanted him to infinity, to the millionth degree; no amount of rain could douse the fire she had in her for him.

Two weeks, that's how long it took. Two weeks of stolen kisses, playful looks, cuddling, mindless chatting, sweet gestures. She was not used to those things about a month ago, now it was all Juliana could think of. They didn't need to hide it though; it was more than obvious that something was up between Zayn and Julie. No one said anything about it; except for Louis, who would whine time and again saying that he was now the 'fifth wheel'.

It was Friday again, aka, they report their weekly books again. She was in their dorm sitting across Jack cross-legged on his bed whilst Zayn was lying on his own bed listening to their conversation. They were done with Jack's book, now it was his turn to ask his questions to her.

"Correct me if I'm wrong," Jack said in a fairly professional voice, "You read 'The Great Gatsby' by Ezra Scott Fitzgerald, correct?" she nodded. "If I'm not wrong this is the only love story you have in your reading list. May I ask why?"

"You're wrong. This isn't a love story Jack, this is a story about love."

He raised his eye-brows, bemused by her answer, "Elaborate," he said.

"Well, it tells you how love truly is."

"Which is...?"

"Which is crude, selfish, defiant, merciless and most importantly, fake."

Zayn sat up frowning, as if processing her answer, "so you think love is fake?" he asked her.

She shrugged before replying, "I know love is fake."

"Ahem." Jack fake-coughed making Jules turn back, "Now can we go back?" Zayn rolled his eyes going back to his lying position scowling at Jack. "Why do you think this book tells that love is crude, selfish and all the things you mentioned before?"

"Well Gatsby loved her with all he had and she said that she did too. He put his entire world at her feet and she did what every other person who says that they're in 'love' do." She said making quotations in air. "She left him to go with someone else; someone else whom she knew was cheating on her. Gatsby died because of the crime she committed in the name of love and she didn't even look back." Her tone was harsh, unforgiving. "I think the love he shows is what people like to think love is, it is the abstract idea of love. And Daisy is what love really is, ruthless and demonic. And when the abstract idea and the reality collide, the reality is what goes ahead and the abstract idea dies. That's what happened in the story. And that's why I think it is a story about love."
