Monica and Chris are having breakfast when Mary arrived home. Her steps faltered seing them this early when she tried to enter their house without making any noise to give herself ample time to gather her thoughts before she comfronted her mother. She had no choice but to greet them instead.

Morning mom, and you too little brother.

Morning  Mary, answered Chris. Where have you been this early? did you jog?

Looking at her mom shaking her head, Mary read it as sign that her mom didn't want her to tell Chris that she spent the  night at Abby's house.

As much as possible Monica didn't want her children to live in an unhappy environment.  She wanted to  shelter them from a chaotic upbringing that deprived them of happines. All she wanted  is to  nurture  and showered them with love because  that's  was the  thing  that has been denied for her in her chilhood.

Her son is  too young to get involved in the mess  she created. Although he tried to act tough and mature, she didn't want him to grow with a scar of  memories that might marred his perception of a loving  family. While she regretted that Mary grew up with out her guidance, she is thankful that she was given the chance to fulfill the role of a mother. She may not be a perfect mother , but she loved her  children and she would do anything to protect them.

Mom, about what we had talked last night, I decided that I would go with you guys in New York. You are my family, and we should stick with each other, that's what  dad had  always wanted,  for us to be together.

Monica sighed with relief, Elizabeth...you don't know how happy you made me, for a while I thought that you would hate me for putting so much pressure on you. I'm glad you understand our situation, as much as it hurts me  to be parted in this place again, the assurance that we could come back here anytime we want to, lessen my  pain.

Really Mom? we could come back here any time? happiness is visible in Mary's face knowing that this place that held her father's memories will be remain secure in their midst of position.

Oh Lizzie, I couldn't let go of this place, this house reminds me of your father and our time together building this home. We were so happy here, and the memories still lingers in my heart despite being away for so long.

This could be our vacation house mom, suggested Chris who listened to their conversation. I like it here, so peaceful and it would be our get away from the city.

I thought you prefer the city little brother.

Crossing his arm Chris scoffs...for your information I'm an old soul. As childish as you are you wouldn't understand.

A what? Mary sputtered her drinks, where did you even find such a word?  Everytime her brother talks he  always leaves her aghast and in a wide surprise. Amazed at his young age he acted so mature but adorably cute with his still chubby cheeks. Few years from now he would out grow those baby fats and Mary could see that he will going to be handsome young man just like their dad.

I agree with you son, this will be our vacation house. Maybe when I retire I could live here permanently, when you two are ready  to take over our business. For the meantime, I will call my lawyer to settle your father's properties and finances. By the end of this week we really need to go back New York.

How about my school mom? I still have one year before I finish high school.

I'm sorry Lizzie if you need to transfer, we can talk which  school do you like when we reach there. You still have a month left before the summer break ends.

Mom, can I ask Abby to come with us? she can have a vacation in New York. I want to spend my summer time with her, I don't know when are we going to see each other again. I'm sure I'm gonna miss her terribly.

There's no problem with me as long as her parents would allow her to come with us. I know you are close as a sister and I understand that the two of you were always together.

That's a great idea, I could act as your tour guide, volunteered Chris. I know the city landmarks he boasted,  by then mom would be very busy,  but we could have some fun, it would be exciting if the three of us could roam the city.

Mary just gave him a funny look....

A week passed with a blur, and now here they are sitting comfortably in  Monica's private jet.

Mary had no faintest idea how wealthy her mother was to afford this kind of luxury. Her jaw hang when the driver drop them off to a private air strip and her mother  ushered them to where the private jet waiting.

Abby's eyes  were wide like  a saucer and  is jumping excitedly when she saw the private jet they were going to fly with. She cannot stop her babbling ang taking selfies to post it on her instagram so that she can  brag it to their friends in school,  while Mary just shake her  head at her bestfriend's  childlike manner.

Both girls were amazed that they were going to experienced  and taste on how wealthy people lived. Abby's family comes from a middle class background while Mary,  she lived with her father with the same upbringing. They cannot contain their excitement and squealed in happiness to realized that together they would share this unforgettable moment in their life and forged their friendship that  even distance could not break the bond that bind them since childhood.
