Friday comes and it's the schedule for their physical education. Girls are separated from boys. They have different set of activities.

Adrian is with his football team and they are practicing at the field. Mary still could see him afar.

While they are waiting for their instructor, some of the girls are busy chatting with their friends. In Mary's class they are 12 girls in all, plus the boys another 12. Most of the girls in her class are Caroline's friends.
And she can tell that all of them  already hated her based on their expression and Caroline's influence.

Hey, Mary right? She was approach by her new classmate a beautiful  black girl. I'm Simone Saunders, I'm sitting behind you in our class. Actually, the first day of class I really wanted to meet you, can we be friends? she then extended her hand.

Mary was surprised that she didn't know how to react.

It's okay if you don't want to be friends with me, nobody wants to be associated with me especially those girls, she pointed out Carolines group looking at their way laughing.

No,no, of course not, what  I mean  is yes, I want to be friends with you. Sorry if you misunderstood, I was just surprised. And about association, maybe you should be wary if you were with me, have you seen their faces they practically hate me. I don't want you to be targeted by those girls because of me, Mary explained.

Don't worry I know how to handle those bitches, I've been dealing with them my entire high school. And I tell you a secret, they don't want to mess with me, she whispers.

Mary smiled when Simone winks. She likes her fiesty attitude.

Come, I want you to meet our other classmates.

Mary follow  her lead to the group of three girls sitting in the floor in the gym.

Girls, I want you to meet the star in our class Mary, and she just agreed to be my friend.

Hello everyone! Oh, hi Sadiya! she is Mary's seatmate.

Hi Mary, she shyly greeted her back.

The two other girls were just staring at her with their mouth agape.

Mary suddenly felt anxious, she didn't know what's their reaction mean.

Close your mouth girls, Simone told them and they just blink at her.

Simone whispered, don't worry they were just star struck.

What? Mary lilt her voice with aghast reaction. She didn't know what to think of it, are they making fun of her? she thought.

Simone laugh, they find you very beautiful.

We can speak for ourselves you know. Sorry if we creep you out,  said the girl with the thick eye glasses.

I'm Madeline, and this weirdo here is  Samantha.

It's Sam for short, and I am gay, she told honestly.

Surprisingly Mary like their diverse group.

Sorry again about earlier, we are just surprised that you would talked to us, said Maddie.

We'll you know, we are the odd one in the campus. Students here actually saw us as a group of freaks that no one likes to bother and easy to be bullied, Sam added.

And you were with the king, even if you are new here,no one is going to mess up with you, again Maddie said innocently.

King? What do you mean?

Your  boyfriend Adrian de Ville, he's the one who ruled the campus. One flick of his finger and everyone follows, quipped Simone.

Adrian is not my boyfriend, he's just a friend , actually a family friend. So that was what Brian told her, about Adrian being her champion because of his authority she shouldn't worry.
