Where's mom? Mary asked Christopher having breakfast at the kitchen counter.
She went to the office, she said there are some documents that needs to be sign and expect us to be ready later for the dinner.
" Morning M, morning Chris, so what's our agenda today?
How about binge - watching on Netflix, there's a series I would like to watch, suggested Mary.
That's a good idea M, do you remember we always do that in your home whenever I have a sleep over. I really missed those days, it's so much fun watching it together and you made fun of me when I cried whenever the scene got emotional. Abby had a wistful look reminiscing the good old days.
Then it's settled, I will prepare our snacks, we still have much time until dinner at the de Ville's.
Oh no, count me out, I don't want to watch those boring movies. I'd rather be productive in other things instead wasting my times on crappy movies.
Do you know how to enjoy little bro? Come on it's so much fun. You can even choose the movie you want, we promised not to complain, right Abbs?
Abby just nod her head, giving Chris an encouraging look.
"Sorry to decline, but I have better things to do. I have to finish the game I developed and show it to Ade later, I want to impress him because he challenged me last time.
Mary sighed looking at her brother's determined expression. She knows he is smart and wise beyond his years, but she wished he would enjoy simple things in life. She cannot fault him though, he is a genius kid and it surprised her when she learned that her brother is a prodigy.
The two girls are enjoying the movie with a full comfort inside Monica's spacious home theater. The seats are comfortable and relaxing much better than the actual movie theater and munching different snacks to their hearts content. They were engrossed on the screen and didn't hear the door opened.
Monica observed the girls silently as their eyes glued on the movie and didn't even noticed her presence in the room. To catched their attention she cleared her throat but to her dismay they didn't even acknowledge her presence. Their focus is still on the movie while clutching their hands together when the scene is a bit frightening. Monica had no choice but to raised her voice a bit higher which startled the girls. Girls, you better turned off the screen now or were going to be late for our dinner engagement.
Mom, how long have you been here? Mary is surprised that they didn't noticed her mother's presence.
Sorry to interrupt girls but you better be hurry up now. You have an hour to prepare or else were going to be late. I told Chris earlier to tell you to get ready before I come home to pick you up.
" Holy crap, muttered Mary looking at her watch, it's already five o' clock. She can't believed how much time had passed and forget they have a dinner invitation tonight.
Language Elizabeth, Monica admonishing her daughter.
Were sorry aunt Moni, we become comfortable that we lost track of time.
It's okay girls, go on now Chris and I will be waiting at the living room.
Mary and Abby descended the stairs at the same time.
You girls are looking lovely, praised Monica.
Little bro, I can't believed you didn't bother to let us know that it's almost time to prepare for our dinner engagement.
Don't blame me for your tardiness, I told you already earlier, you just have to be responsible in tracking time because it's precious.
" Whatever", what else did she expect from him, he always have the last word.
While Abigail just rolled her eyes hearing the siblings usual bickering. There's nothing new, except her bestfriend's tolerance for Chris. As long as she remembers Mary never back down and let anybody had the last word especially if she felt it's not her fault. It's just shows how much she loved her little brother and she knows Chris felt the same, he just loved to get a rise from her.
