Don't force yourself to get up, you're still weak from the fever last night. God M, you have me worried, I called my Mom to come and check you up because you're burning. Luckily the medicine took effect and we don't need to bring you to the hospital.
Sorry Abbs for being such a burden to you. I know you're getting tired in taking care of me.
Stop that nonsense, you know you can count on me always, besides your mom helped me too, she tend to you overnight.
Mary choose not say anything concerning her mother. She didn't care if she sound ungrateful, she didn't least bothered by these information.
A sudden knocks in the door stopped their conversation.
Monica is carrying a tray filled with food and medicine for her daughter. She smiled seeing Mary is up, her pallor is a bit pale though, she laid the tray beside the dresser.
The delicious aroma wafted through the air, these made Mary's stomach rumbling since she didn't eat last night.
You have to eat to recuperate and replenish your energy, Monica said seeing her daughter just staring in the food. She knows what's on her mind and decided to leave her and went back downstairs.
You don't have to be rude to your mother, she's trying M. I don't want you to live your life with regrets and hatred, you'll never know when you're given another chance to make amends, referring to her father's passing. Life is full of surprises, siezed the day with positivity and enthusiasm, Abby continued to encourage her bestfriend.
I would think about it, maybe you're right. I'm tired and it's draining, I don't want to be consumed with guilt anymore, and this hatred is exhausting.
Healing is a slow process, but I'm glad you consider it. Regardless of your decision, I'm always be here for you.
After finishing her food, Mary felt drowsy, her eyes becomes heavy and lulled into sleepiness, she still felt weak and tired.
Abby tiptoed her way out seeing her bestfriend asleep. She needs to go home to get some clothes. Mary still needed her, until then she would stay here, luckily it's summer break.
Monica is in the living room with Chris, seeing Abby standing there she motioned her to come.
I need to go home to get some clothes, I'll be right back. Mary is sleeping , so I will leave now so I can get back before she wakes up.
It's alright dear take your time, and Abigail thank you for sticking into my daughter. Tell your Mom I said hi and thank you, you both are a blessing to my Elizabeth.
After an hour Monica went upstairs to check for Mary. She touch her forehead and was glad that her fever is gone. She caress her cheeks gently, she missed doing this to her when she was a child. Her hand stilled when she heard a muffled cry. Mary keeps her head turning while muttering incoherent words. She's dreaming or more likely having a nightmare when a shrilling wail of a child coming from her voice brings an immense pain to Monica's heart.
Mary continued shouting her mother's name while flailing her hand helplessly reaching for something.
Mom, Mom, where are you? please don't leave, I need you, I'm afraid...
Monica cannot stand it anymore she broke down. Seeing her daughter like this even having a nightmare because of her abandonement brought grief on her heart.
Forgive me Lizzie, shh... mom is here, I would never leave you again, she continued to cooed her until she calm down and went back to sleep.
Christopher heard some crying and shouting rushed towards upstairs in Mary's room. Seeing his mother in tears while murmuring soft words to his sister. Is she alright? he asked in hushed whisper. His mother only nods and signal him to be quite.
She was just having a nightmare, after making sure Mary is comfortable they went back downstairs.
Don't be sad Mom, he tried to act tough and lighten his mother's burden. Even at his young age, Chris could see how much his mom suffered the separation from his sister. He tried to fill that void by being a good son to her. He just wanted to see his mom happy, and his sister could make it so, only if she forgives her. He needs to talk to her, but right now he just wanted to wipe his mother's tears. I love you mom...
I love you too my son, she hugged him wishing that her daughter feels the same towards her and that she could openly embrace her without restraint.
