"you're not perfect...are you?" said yeonjun looking at soobin. soobin frowned. yeonjun always talked about being perfect.
"no-one is perfect. everyone has a flaw. you may not see it cause you keep this image in your head. like, this person is perfect. there is nothing wrong with this person but if you look closely enough, there is bound to be a fault." soobin said.
yeonjun stepped back a bit and cleared his throat, "umm, let's finish the project."
"ok."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
their story was somewhat cliché but yeonjun liked it. it was a story about a queen who was unsupported by the people of her own country because she was a women. everyone called her vile and ugly but only one person in her empire found her beautiful. they both fell in love and could not marry each other cause the queen had to marry someone from royalty. but that didn't stop them, even after her marriage she maintained her relationship with the man she loved. however, one day, her lover had to be sent off for war and that was the last time she ever saw him.
soobin and yeonjun were sure that almost everyone in the class would go for a happy ending because history romances usually have a tragic one. so to set themselves apart, they would go for a happy ending.
"and we're done." said yeonjun, typing "the end" on their word document.
"you did most of the work but ok." said soobin. yeonjun laughed.
"yo---"
"do that again."
"what?" asked yeonjun, confused.
"you have such a pretty laugh," said soobin. yeonjun turned away quickly. he didn't want soobin to see his blush.
"don't fall in love with me" said yeonjun, slightly smiling.
"but i'm not ga--OH WAIT YOU KNOW. shit, i'm sorry if i made you uncomfortable."
yeonjun sighed. "soobin. i want you to remember two things. one, all my friends are gay and they make hella gay comments all the time so i don't really mind. two, i know you've had some issues being open about your sexuality but when you're with me, you can be yourself you know."
yeonjun was shocked when soobin enveloped him into a hug. yeonjun immediately pushed him away. "ew, i hate skinship."
"boring and you're the one who told me to be myself and the real soobin loves to cuddle."
be yourself was what he told soobin. yeonjun almost scoffed to himself.
who was he to advice soobin when he didn't even know what it felt like to be himself.
------------------------------------------------------------------
soobin's mother gave him a sweet goodbye and a box filled with fried chicken since yeonjun said he didn't have time to eat at their house.
he made his way to his house.
he rang the door bell and one of the servants opened the door.
"oh yeonjun sir, wait, let me hold that for you." said the servant. yeonjun immediately pulled his the box away from the servant. he didn't want anyone to touch that.
"no thank you."
yeonjun removed his shoes and walked inside the house. yeonjun stared as he saw his mom and dad at the dining table. yeonjun's stomach churned even more when he saw his brother sitting at the table with a sick smile on his place. his brother had delicately held the cutlery in his fingers and was elegantly cutting the meat, talking to his dad.
