yeonjun walked down sleepily. he had woken a bit earlier than usual but he just wasn't able to sleep.

oh and he kissed soobin on the cheek. yeonjun blushed at memory of the previous day. he didn't believe he actually did that.

"yeonjun." he heard his father said. yeonjun looked and saw that he was sitting on the dining table, sipping what yeonjun assumed was coffee.
"yes, dad?"

"don't go to school today."

"what?"

"the engagement in day after tomorrow! are you mental? we've got so much preparation to do."

yeonjun looked at the ground. he was being reminded of the reality he wanted to forget over and over again. he had to tell someone about this. he had to tell soobin. yeonjun felt the obligation to tell soobin but at the time, he didn't know how he could tell soobin. telling soobin was equivalent to letting go of him.

"okay, dad."
"now come here. we need to decide on the rings."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"yeonjun, you mean the world to me and i don't think i can live without you. will you go out with me?"

"ew."

soobin sighed and looked at his friends. they were apporving none of his confession ideas. this was like the 13th one.

"what should i do?"
"i don't know." said kai. "but please don't do any of the this. he might reject you out of cringe."

soobin shot a glare at kai. gosh, he didn't want to think about rejection. that would make things so much worse for him.

why was he even doing this in the first place? honestly, he would prefer having yeonjun around as a friend than both of them having an awkward relationship because soobin confessed.

but soobin wanted to do all of those romantic and couple-y things with yeonjun. like holding hands, sharing kisses, pouring out hearts to each other. soobin could do this freely if they started dating.

and then there's the insecurity everytime yeonjun talks with someone else. it feels like anyone who talks to yeonjun is going to take yeonjun away from soobin.
"if you're thinking of backing out i'll kill you." said taehyun.

"but what do i do?"

beomgyu sighed. "a simple i love you is all it takes. those three words can pretty sum up your feelings for him, you know."

"he's right." said kai "plus it's something that yeonjun might want to hear."

soobin wondered. yeonjun did tell that he always wanted love and that he never got it. he still doesn't get the love he deserves. soobin frowned. who wouldn't want to shower yeonjun with love?

"speaking of yeonjun," said taehyun. "he didn't come to school yet and it's almost time. we have to go to class."

soobin decided to text yeonjun. he was fired up and had the courage to confess and he didn't want waste time and wait for his courage to fade to away.

soobin : you not coming today?
yeonjun : nah, family work

soobin : how's ur face?

yeonjun : you treated it so ofc it's terrible.

soobin : you meanie
yeonjun : jk, it's fine. thanks
