yeonjun lied down on his bed, tired from the day's work. he heard a ping on the phone and was honestly shocked to see he had 14 new messages.

soobin : are you fine?
soobin : you didn't come to school that day.
soobin : also your friends aren't mad at you anymore ! in fact, they were waiting for you today?

wooyoung : hey besties
jihoon : lmao whut it tis?
wooyoung : a gc. where's yeonjun?
jihoon: idk.

beomgyu : yeonjun you there?

yeonjun smiled at the messages he received from his friends. it made him feel so warm inside.
yeonjun began replying to each of them when the door to him room opened.
"what are you smiling like a fool for?"
yeonjun immediately dropped his smile and immediately tucked it inside his pillow but unfortunately his brother noticed that movement.
his brother walked towards him and took his phone. he unlocked it and smirked.
"oh. this is suprising. you have friends? and they were worried about you not coming to school? pft. how much did you pay them?"
yeonjun looked away in disgust and fear. he would never stoop so low as to pay someone for friendship.
his brother turned yeonjun's jaw, causing yeonjun to face him.
"look at me when i'm talking to you."
yeonjun nodded. fear was taking over him.
"how much did you pay them?"
"i-i didn't p-pay them." yeonjun said, his voice feeble.
"oh really? and how did you suddenly get friends? oh wait, i know. you told them who you are and they wanted to be friends with you. for your money."
yeonjun clenched his teeth. he knew that wasn't the truth.
"face it, yeonjun. no one would want you without the money that comes with you."
no, that's not true, yeonjun wanted to say. he had to speak up.
"my friends don't know about me. they don't know i'm the son of the choi company." said yeonjun and was almost shocked at himself. he can't believe he almost said it out loud.
"oh really? they sound like fun people. i would love to meet them." and his brother left. for the first time in his life, yeonjun saw a different expression on his brother's face. soobin's words came to his mind.
all his life, he thought his brother was the most perfect person he had ever seen but after today, yeonjun knew he wasn't
after all, perfect people don't get jealous of other people.
