yeonjun walked towards his house. he reached the gates of the house and stood outside it, thinking.

his house looked nothing like a home. sure, yeonjun's house was aesthetic and had all amenities but it was so big, at times it felt like yeonjun was the only one in the house. and honestly, yeonjun felt like he had talked to his butlers and servants more than his family. it was pitiful.

on the other hand, soobin's house was much more friendly and made yeonjun comfortable at once. the house smelled didn't smell artificial and there was no way you could avoid anyone in that tiny cramped up house.

soobin's house felt much better than yeonjun's.

but there was nothing yeonjun could do anything about. he was completely bound by his parents and he had long given up trying to escape.

yeonjun waited as one of the workers opened the door for him. there were so many of them in his house, he had no idea who half of them were.

"why are you so late?" asked his mom, who was looking at some article in the magazine.

as if you care, thought yeonjun. "i was with soobin. i...apologized to him."

"oh, wow. you're finally learning good manners. i've proud of you. come here."

yeonjun walked towards to his mother. she made him kneel and touched his cheek. the place where his brother had cut.

his mother rubbed the wound with her thumb. her perfume was suffocating him and he wanted to get away from her.

"this scar...it will go, right?" asked his mother.

yeonjun looked into her eyes and saw that she was scared. and he knew. he knew she was scared about the fact that the scar might not go, leaving a permanent scar on his pretty face.

"i will, mother. don't worry." said yeonjun, slowly taking her hand off his cheeks.

without another word, he walked away from her and went up to his room.

he slammed the door shut and took deep breaths. being so close to his mother felt so wrong. he felt suffocated and he never ever wanted that to happen again.

anyways, for his mother, he was nothing but a pretty doll to present to people.

yeonjun woke up as usual, at the usual time. he got up from his bed and went downstairs to drink some water.

to his surpise, his dad was standing there, with a coffee mug in his hand.

"oh yeonjun. glad i could see you." his dad said, giving him a smile.

yeonjun immediately knew that his dad wanted something from him.

yeonjun bowed down and said, "good morning."

"today, there is an event. i need you to go."

no. yeonjun didn't want to go. he hated these event. he was always forced to give people fake smiles and shake hands with strangers. at these events, his anxiety always went up.

"but it's a school day." tried yeonjun.

"so? take an off. this event is very important."

"you can send brother?"

his dad glared at him and yeonjun immediately looked away. "it's an event for son's and daugther of prestigious companies. and there is not way i'm sending that ugly piece of shit. i can't let my company image go down with his face. you're the face of our company, yeonjun."
