Captain America: The Winter Soldier ]
After Tony, Steve and Scott arrived to the Avengers Tower, in the past, Steve sneaked into the elevator in the building. Some group of guys joined the elevator and had some small talk with Steve. Suddenly Steve and one of the men were discussing about the scepter, cause one of the men held it in his hand, and Steve needed it, so he could bring it back to the future.
Steve told the men, that they were on the same side, and had the same plan with the scepter, but the men threatened him anyways, to call their leader. Steve confidently told them, that it wouldn't be necessary and finished the conversation with "Hail HYDRA". The keyword.
And just like that, Steve walked away from the elevator with the scepter.
In this case, the audience of the movie would've been very surprised, cause this scene has also happened before.
Back in The Winter Soldier-movie, the elevator scene also happened, but very differently tho. Steve went into the elevator, and suddenly, on every floor, some more men joined. They pretended to be SHIELD-agents, but they're actually all undercover for the secret-bad-guy-group HYDRA. Steve got suspicious when he looked at the other guys holding to their guns and sweating as hell on their foreheads. Suddenly all the men hacked the elevator and attacked Steve Rogers, so they could capture him and get him to their leader.
You see what happend here?
Steve went from being the messed one, to the one who messed with the others.
As Chandler Bing (FRIENDS) would've said: The messers become the messies.
