[ Avengers: Endgame x
Iron Man ]

Remember when Tony and Steve time-traveled back to Steves former camp, to get the space stone? This was also the scene, where Tony saw his father, Howard Stark, after so many years, even when he was dead.

Tony was at first kinda awkward in the surroundings of his father, cause he never thought that he would ever get the chance to see him again. So Tony decided to enjoy some time with him, and they got to talk, but of course Howard couldn't know, that Tony was actually his future kid.

In the end of this bonding-moment, they talked about kids, cause apparently Tonys mom was pregnant with Tony in this moment. They talked about some parental advise and some secretly feelings about being a father. And right before Tony and Steve left, Tony said: "Howard, everything is gonna be alright. Thank you. For everything..." while he gave him a hug.

And you're probably wondering: Why was this scene so special and why did Tony just hug a strange man he had "just met"?

That's because, back in Iron Man, after some men from Stark Industries saved Tony in the desert, he talked about the company, which was started by his father, and said at a press-meeting:
"I never got to say goodbye to my father. There's questions I would've asked him..."

So this conversation and hug, in Endgame, were actually a new chance for Tony to say a last goodbye to his father, even though he didn't knew who he was.

Discussion: If Howard knew that it was Tony, the whole time, how do you think the whole thing and conversation would've went?
