[ Avengers: Endgame x Captain America: The Winter Soldier ]

Right before the battle against Thanos, when all the Avengers came back, Steve heard a connection from Sam (the falcon), which he hadn't in 5 years, since the snap. Sam tried to get Steve to copy, and than he appeared from a portal while saying: "On your left"

This "on your left"-thing has actually a very important meaning, even though it's just 3 simple words.

Back in the second C.A. movie, when Steve was trying to get back on track, after being frozen down for 70 years, he met a stranger during some runs around the Washington Monument. Sam Wilson. Since Steve was so much faster than Sam, then he said "on your left" every time he passed by him. And this was also how Steve and Sam first met and introduced themselfs.

So this "on your left"-thing was actually an inside-joke between Steve and Sam, from their first meet. And because Sam never was as fast as Steve, he thought that this would be a great opportunity to use it against him, when he came back from the snap.

Discussion: Do you think that Steve made the right choice, when he gave Sam the shield in the end, of the movie, and not Bucky?
