I stepped out of the car immediately to go inside the house.

I opened it since I have a duplicate key.

I said I'll be home late, but I didn't expect I'll be late this much.

It's already 2 in the morning.

After going to the headquarters, there's a lot of accidents happened because of the motherfvcker who want to file a plea to let him investigated first.

After that, the Upper line gave me another mission and that includes going back to the edifice.

I looked at the dining area if she's there but I found no one.

Fvck! I promised!

I am more than sure that she's already sleeping so I entered the door of her room and there I saw her sleeping...

But not peacefully.

"Ma...Pa..." I saw her head shaking with fear and tears are falling to her cheeks.

My heart tightened as I looked at her.

Lumapit ako sa kaniya at dahan dahan hinawakan ang pisngi niya at pinunasan ang kaniyang mga luha.

"Shhh...it's okay...I'm just here."

Then suddenly she cried harder.

I hugged her when I can't take it anymore.

If only I can get the dead into life, I'll do it for Aleah.

"D-declan?"

I cupped her face immediately to look at it since I'm hugging her so I can't see her face.

"I'm sorry I'm too late." I'm disappointed in myself.

"I-it's okay. W-what important i-is that you're s-safe." Then she hugged me. "I'm scared to be alone. It made me want to not sleep again." I heard her sobs.

"I'm here. You won't be alone again. I'll never leave if God permits. I'm gonna be by your side as long as you let me." I said and kissed the top of her head.

"I-i waited for you. I'm s-sorry I sleep." She said in a soft tone.

I smiled and kissed his forehead this time. "It's okay. It's my fault. I promised I'll be home but there's an emergency so I'm sorry."

"H-have you eaten?" She asked and tried to get up.

I immediately pulled her into my arms again. I did it gently.

"No need. I'm okay." I sweetly said and tugged her to me and buried my face to her neck.

"B-but you haven't eaten yet. It's not good." Aniya.

"Will you sleep after seeing me eating?" I asked.

"Hmm." She nodded.

"Okay." I held her hand and pulled her gently to get her up. I caress her waist and kissed her forehead. "Let's go."

We went downstairs and she immediately prepares the food for me.

"Here you go." She smiled and placed the plate with the food dish and rice in front of me.

"Thank you."

She sat beside me. "By the way, how's your wound? Is it really true na natamaan ka ng bala? I mean, obvious naman but I want to hear it from you. I don't want to complicate things."

I nodded. I also don't want to lie to her and make conflicts for lying. I know she'll find out what's I'd been up to. Pinaaga ko lang ngayon.

"Yeah. Secret agent." I said.
