Chapter 10

Declan Costellano

"Declan?"

Napalingon ako kay Aleah na galing lang sa gising.

"Good morning." I smiled and went on her to kiss her forehead. "Sit down. Malapit na maluto 'to." I said and went back to cooking.

I didn't hear any replies from her but I heard the movement of the chair.

When I finished cooking, I immediately place it on the plate and put it on the table.

"Late na 'ko nagising." Aniya habang nakatingin sa pagkain na nilalagay ko sa plato niya.

"It's 10 in the morning. Not that late. Go on. Eat." Aniko sa kaniya at pagkain ko naman ang inasikaso ko.

"Thank you." She smiled at me.

"How's your sleep?" I asked.

"It's good. You're hugging me." Aniya habang nakatingin sa kinakain.

Isn't she aware that she said that?

"Anyway, I want you to continue telling me the whole story. Para kasing mas nagiging okay 'yung pakiramdam ko." Aniya.

"Do you wanna hear more stories about your parents? Because to be honest, I don't know that much. Ayokong umasa ka."

Her eyes went up to look at me. "It's okay. I just wanted to know the story. How you get to know me and what life you had before seeing me." Then she smiled.

"Okay." I just said and continued staring at her while she's eating.

"Uhm Declan?"

"Hmm?"

"You said you're a secret agent then why do you have a company?" She asked.

"Well, my family has a lot of business, they got that from the association. It's like a reward. If you're doing great, then they'll give you money, business it anything you request. But me, I had my company because of my own, not from my family or from the association. I studied and build my surface of money." I answered her.

She smiled and tousle my hair. "I'm proud of you."

I bit my lip to hide my smile.

"Really?"

"Hmm..." She innocently nodded.

"Well, I think all of it are worth it."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I did all of it for you. My dad told me that one day, our enemy might get you and you might be used as their alas so when he learned that I like you back then, he used my feelings to train me and open my eyes to the world where I truly belong."

"So you're telling me that you entered the association b-because of me?"

I nodded.

"Exactly."

Umawang ang kaniyang bibig saka nanghihinang inalis ang tingin sa akin.

"Are you okay?" I worriedly asked.

To my expectation, she didn't nod rather she shook her head and went to look at me in the eyes.

"Y-you suffered j-just to make sure that I'll be safe. Y-you sacrificed your time h-hurting yourself because of training because you want m-me safe..." She said while crying.

I sighed and pulled her to me.

"Dad told me that the moment the enemy knew about your existence, you will be in danger so I did everything I could so no one can harm you, I became someone just to make sure you're safe and you're not responsible for that. I did that because I want to, because I love you." Then I kissed the tip of her nose.

I heard her sobs so I continued comforting her. "Y-you love that m-much?"

I smiled and nodded. "Yes, I do."

When she heard my reply, she cries even more.

"Hey, stop crying." Pag lapatahan ko sa kaniya.

"Ikaw kasi. Ano ba kasi ginawa ko para mahalin mo 'ko ng ganito?" Aniya habang umiiyak?

I chuckled. "I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that."

"M-may magagawa ba 'ko papaya msuklian man lang lahat ng ginawa mo para sa'kin?"

I smiled genuinely. "Just be okay. Learn to be okay after all that happened. That's more than enough." Aniko

Ngunit mas lalo siyang umiyak kaya napabuntong hininga na ako.

Niyakap ko siya ng mahigpit.

"I love you. 'Yun ang pinaka totoo sa lahat ng totoo na ssinabi at naramdaman ko."

Suminghot singhot siya.

"Ligawan mo 'ko."

Nanlaki agad ang mga mata ko.

"Wh-what?"

She rolled her eyes. "Ligawan mo 'ko tapos sasagutin kita tapos tayo na." Aniya na parang wala lang.

"A-are you e-even aware of what y-you said?" I stuttered.

"Yes." Aniya.

Napalunok ako. "Will you let me court you?" Nanginginig ko na tanong.

"Oo. Ako nga nag sabi sa'yo diba?"

I laughed. "I'll start." Aniko.

Kinuha ko ang plato niya at tinalat 'yun sa akin. Agad kong inipon ang pagkain sa kutsara at tinapat ito sa bibig niya.

Nakakunot ang kaniyang noo.

"Say ah." Parang baliw kong ani.

"Ah." Binuka niya ang bibig niya at ipinasok ko ang kutsara para makain niya ang pagkain.

Sinubuan ko siya hanggang sa maubos ang pagkain. Ako rin ang nag painom sa kaniya ng tubig.

"Ang weird mo manligaw ah." Komento niya habang nag liligpit kami.

Tumawa naman ako saka pinisil ang kaniyang ilong.

"Teka, may trabaho ka ba?" Tanong niya.

I shook my head. "Business is doing well. I don't think I needed to go to work for at least one week."

"How about being an agent?" Tanong niya.

"I plan to quit."

Nanlaki ang mata niya.

"Why? I mean, bakit ngayon?" She asked.

"Wala na akong rason para ipagpatuloy ang trabaho ko dun." Aniko sa kaniya.

Napatango na lang siya.

"How about you? You'll still go to work?"

"Oo naman. Wala naman akong gagawin dito." Aniya.

"Pwede bang mag leave ka ng one week. I'll do the same." Aniko sa kaniya.

Napameywang siya. "At ano naman ang gagawin natin sa loob ng isang linggo, aber?"

"Liligawan ka."

Napanguso naman siya.

"Why? You feel bad not going to work 'cause you're not able to see that Blake carson?" I sarcastically asked.

Nabigla naman siya. "Huh? Bakit napasok sa usapan si blake? Tsaka bakit mo siya kilala?"

I rolled my eyes. "It doesn't matter."

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya sa ginawa kong pagirap. "Wow! Did you just rolled your eyes on me?"

Ngumiwi ako.

"Wag mo 'ko subukan. Baka mabusted kita nang wala sa oras." Bigla niyang banta.

Ganun na lamang ang gulat ko at pag bawi sa sinabi. "That was a joke."

Then she rolled her eyes.

Will I be grilled next time? Well, At least she let me court her.
