The next two days flew by. Your schedule progressed like normal, appearing on a couple streams, but mainly looking forward to Tommy's inevitable text to vc with him and Tubbo or help him with something on the SMP. It had seemed perfectly normal for your mood to immediately go up whenever he texted you. You guys were friends. Friends liked hanging out with each other. Friends get excited to talk to each other. Friends sync up their sleep schedule for each other. It's just...what friends do. Even if your feelings did feel a tad bit confusing at times and you hadn't felt like this around any of your other friends before, it wasn't something you wanted to deal with at the moment, so you swatted your thoughts away.

"Earth to y/n?" Tubbo timidly called out to you, suddenly bringing you away from your thoughts.

"Hi! Sorry, sorry I got distracted" You say, not technically lying.

You and Tubbo had been editing his among us VOD for a youtube video.

You marked down timestamps of the entertaining moments as Tubbo said "oh ok, Tommy is sending me his VOD, so we can use any of his clips as well"

"Okay" You replied, pulling up Tommys video as you began to click through.

"Look there goes y/n off to do her task. Let's follow her. Let's go see where she's going. What is she doing? Oh she for sure faked that task there's no way.
Tubbo! Tubbo's here! y/n if you're on the stream right now, kill Tubbo I won't say anything. Oh- oh she didn't kill him. I think y/n is clear.
Me and Tubbo and y/n just dancing in shields! You know, chat if I had to pick, Tubbo and y/n are easily my best friends. I trust them both with my life. Well actually-maybe not Tubbo. I think Tubbo might kill one of us-"

Your heart flipped as you listened to Tommy ramble onto his chat. He had called you his best friend. Even if it was just in the game, you knew Tommy spoke whatever was in his head, and at that moment it had been you and Tubbo. You couldn't stop smiling. A ping rang through your headphones and you looked back over at discord. Tommy had joined the call.

"Hey Tubbo-" Tommy said, his voice groggy.

"Hi tommy!" Tubbo answered excitedly.

"Hello Tommy" You said, welcoming him.

"Oh! Hi! Hi y/n" Tommy said, with a surprising amount of soft joy in his voice.

He's happy to see you.

You felt your body suddenly grow warm again as the thought crept through your head.

"We're editing Tubbo's video if you want to help-" you said quickly, trying to get the dumb smile Tommy had caused, off of your face.

"Oh I'm in the car right now, I was actually just gonna tell Tubbo I'll be at his 'ouse soon. I just woke up from a nap and my dad says we're about 30 minutes away"

"Brilliant!" Tubbo yelled, his joy practically flying through the screen.

"Are you guys going to stream?" You asked.

"I don't think we will today, but probably tomorrow" Tubbo answered.

"Yeah I'm fucking exhausted. Driving sucks" Tommy groaned.

You hear someone in the background mention that Tommy hasn't even been the one driving and you giggle as Tommy and his Dad begin to get into a lighthearted argument.

"Alright boys if neither of you are streaming today, I might." I say, stretching and opening Twitch.

You left the call and started your stream.

It was a chill one today, you were finally able to take advantage of Tommy's adsense and build a nice house in a location you didn't think he would be able to find. A familiar ping was heard in the discord.

"Ello!" Tommy said loudly.

You hadn't streamed with him in so long you had forgotten how much more energy he portrayed in front of an audience. Your chat began to fill with complaints about his audio.

"Tommy chat is saying you sound different"

"Oh, it's because I'm in a car right now"

"Why are you in a car Tommy" you say grinning slightly, seeing what kind of excuse he would come up with.

"Because I foking am. What is this, ask Tommy dumb questions day?" He expresses almost angrily.

You mentally take a step back to breath, remembering Tommy's first messages to you, to not take what he says on stream too seriously. You remembered you had a role to play too.

"Holy shit, touched a nerve there didn't I" you say rolling your eyes.

"I'm bored. This isn't funny. I'm bored I'm bored" Tommy complained like a toddler.

"You joined the vc idiot."

"Fine I guess I'll just leave" He says bitterly.

"Alright bye Tommy."

"Unless-unless you need me to stay of course. For views and shit" He says almost too confidently.

"Hey I can earn my own views thank you very much, dickhead."

"Put my name in the title, see how much the viewer count goes up" he says mischievously.

"Oh my god youre so fucking cocky Tommyinnit" You snarl back.

"Wait, actually do it, I want to see what difference it'll make" His tone now amused.

You roll your eyes and say out loud what you're typing. "Chill...stream...with....Tommyinnit" you say back, your voice falling flat.

"Why do you say my name like that?" He says smugly. You can just picture the smirk on his face.

You feel the warmth on your cheeks spread to the back of your neck and you're at a loss of words for a second.

"What'd you mean..."

"I don't know your voice sounded...different, nevermind"

"Anyways today I was thinking..." you continued the rest of your stream, talking to chat and ignoring the comments about your very obvious blush. Tommy left after a couple of minutes and you couldn't help but feel a lot less excited now that your vc was empty.

An hour after your stream had ended, your phone rang with a facetime call from Tubbo.

"Hey Tubbo-"

"NOT TUBBO, BITCH" Tommy yelled back, his face barely an inch away from the camera.
You burst into laughter at how ridiculous he looked. This was definitely not his best angle, but the smile on his face and the pure joy he was emitting was enough to make you grin.

He and Tubbo facetimed you for about an hour, before Tubbo's mom asked them to come down for dinner. You couldn't help but watch Tommy's face fall slightly, as he told you they had to go, but mentioned they would probably stream tomorrow, and you were welcome to join.

A couple hours later, you fell asleep that night replaying Tommy's laughter in your head over and over. At this point, you were starting to come to terms with your feelings. You definitely liked this boy, there was no denying it, but he saw you as his friend. His best friend nonetheless. You frowned, twisting uncomfortably in your bed as your thoughts rapidly whirled around your head.
A rushed knock was heard at your bedroom door.
