TW: slight mentions of surgery, blood/blood tests
"Y/n? What's wrong?" Your aunt rushes in, immediately sitting down close to you.
"I-I have to go back to my house tomorrow-" You choke out, voice muffled slightly.
"Oh! No you don't, you still have three-"
"No! My brother's sick, my parents changed my flight to 8 A.M. tomorrow." You say bitterly.
"Oh, y/n I'm so sorry," Your aunt says softly, reaching out to you. Her voice is so sincere it hurts. You feel awful for lashing out at her, this isn't her fault.
You sit up and go to her, letting her cradle you in her arms. It burns. She's warm and smells like honey. You haven't felt this kind of care from your parents in so long. You can't even remember the last time your mom hugged you. You fall apart in her arms, sobbing into her as she holds you tightly, whispering silent apologies for something that isn't even her fault.
5:00 A.M.
You woke up in your bed again, the lights in the room dimmed. You sat up sleepily, looking around the room. Your aunt wasn't here. You remember her softly carrying you back into your bed once you cried yourself to sleep and suddenly the rest of the night came rushing back. You fought against the tears that began to pool in your eyes when the door to the room opened.
Jumping slightly, your eyes shot to the door.
"Oh! I'm so sorry I hope I didn't wake you," Your aunt whispered.
"No, no I woke up a couple of minutes ago where did you go?"
I called your mom. I told her it wasn't fair to ask you to come home right now. I tried, I really really tried to get her to let you-"
"It's okay, really, I know things aren't up for discussion when it comes to my brother, trust me. I really appreciate you calling them though, you didn't have to," You say, turning back to look at your hands as you fidget nervously with the covers of the bed, suddenly aware of the fondness in your voice.
"I just-I just wish I could do more, y/n. You're an incredible person and you really shouldn't have to be dragged into everything your parents say all the time, God knows they hardly know what they're talking about for most of it." Your aunt says, shaking her head angrily.
You smiled at that.
"I um, I packed up some of your stuff, I figured you would probably wouldn't be in the mood to do that this morning."
"Thank you, I really appreciate that," You looked over at what had been the pile of clothes you had already worn on the trip. They were all neatly folded into your suitcase.
"Should I call Tommy?" You said quietly, looking at your aunt.
"Probably. It's only 5 A.M. right now, but I'm sure he would answer for you." She said warmly, smiling sadly.
You called Tommy, explaining that your parents needed you home and had already booked you a trip. He was very tired and didn't seem like he fully understood all that you were telling him because it was only a little past 5 in the morning, so you told him you would send a text reiterating what you had just said so that he could remember in the morning. He groggily agreed, before saying a quick goodnight and hanging up.
You sent the text to both him and Tubbo as you and your aunt checked out of the hotel, heading to the airport shortly after.
The goodbye was awful. You never wanted to let go of your aunt, never wanted to get on the stupid plane that would take you back to the stupid family that you hated. You wanted to stay here with her, forever. You cried more than you were willing to admit, very thankful that it was only your aunt that you had to say goodbye to today, and not Tommy and Tubbo.
