The morning of the flight was disastrous. You woke up to the sound of your brother crying and both of your parents loudly arguing over something. You rose to your feet, eyes still squinted in exhaustion as you wobbled over to your bedroom door. Sometime during the night, your brother had gotten sick and had been complaining of stomach pains ever since.
It was now 4 A.M., less than 4 hours since you had finally said goodbye to Tubbo and gone to sleep, not that you felt any more rested now than you had been at the time.
You opened your bedroom door just in time to catch the front door slam as your mom rushed out, your poor brother slowly trudging behind her. You watched your dad whirl around as you leaned against the door frame, causing the wood to creak a bit.
"What's going on?" You yawned, rubbing your eyes.
"Your brother has been throwing up all night and your mother, being the dramatic woman she is, thinks it's best to take him to the hospital." Your father bitterly spat back at you.
You rolled your eyes at his tone, knowing he was probably just as tired, if not more, as you. With less than an hour remaining before you and your mom were planning to leave for the airport, you figured you might as well shower now. Slow bits of realization began to tumble into your mind.
"How long do you think mom is going to be gone?" You questioned.
"Probably less than an hour, your brother is fine, she's just wasting the doctors time." Your father groaned back, clearly not able to hold his temper before sunrise.
With that, you turned toward the bathroom, getting yourself ready for your long flight.
About an hour later, your hair was dry and you had double-checked everything you planned to bring, yet your mother was still nowhere to be seen. You glanced at your phone, the time now reading 5:03 A.M.
"Dad?"
"What?"
"Where's mom, she's supposed to be taking me to the airport right now."
Your dad shifted his weight as he turned toward you and opened his phone, eyes suddenly wide as he read the missed texts. The doctors had determined there was something wrong with your brother's digestion and would need to be running a few more tests, meaning both your mother and brother would be staying at the hospital for quite a bit longer.
"Who is taking me to the airport, you know how much I cannot miss this flight!" You said in a rush, your pitch rising higher with urgency.
"I guess I'll have to." Your dad said with a sigh.
The two of you loaded your suitcase and backpack into the car and were at the airport within an hour, 30 minutes later than you had planned, but your dad insisted on stopping for breakfast. After a hectic hour of check-in and security, you waved your final goodbyes to your dad and ran onto the plane, the final boarding group being called for entrance. You breathed a sigh of relief as you sunk into the dingy airplane seat, relinquishing the fact that no matter what happened this morning, nothing could ruin this trip.
After a gruesome 7 hour flight, you were finally in London.
Exhausted from jet lag and the little sleep you had gotten the night before, you were overwhelmed by the pure noise that was the London airport. After passing through customs, you trudged through the airport, following the directions to baggage claim. People ran past you, familiar accents being called out all around when suddenly, you reached the baggage claim. Your brain was telling you it was noon but all the clocks around you read 6:30 P.M. This would definitely be something to get used to.
