Alba's POV
I stare at Colin as he sleeps - hoping I don't look as creepy as I feel - and think about how different I feel when I'm with him. Safe. I feel...safe. I touch Colin's face, his skin feeling hot now mine's cooled down a bit. I don't think I've ever felt anything quite like that. Colin mumbles in his sleep and I get a flash of myself with a glowing baby in my arms. Jesus, what is it with the two of us and baby dreams?
Colin wriggles in his sleep and I suppress a laugh. He looks so...so innocent when he sleeps. He looks human. I move slightly so I can see the imprint of my hand on his pelvis. I splay my hand over the burn and rest my head on his chest, listening to his heart thrum as I feel the evidence Colin will never be human under my hand.
I start to drift off with the sound of Colin's heart in my ears, and it isn't long before I'm dozing with my head on his chest.

"Come on Jadey-girl!" I coo and I watch the toddler sway on her feet, her big green eyes grinning at me. She giggles and my heart melts.
"Mama!" She squeals as I swoop down to pick her up, holding her upside so the back of her head is resting on my stomach.
"Hallo there." I smile at her and she laughs. I watch as she gasps excitedly and scrambles in my grasp.
"Daddy!" She shrieks excitedly and I let her run over to Colin. He swoops her up like I did and swings her in the air, making her squeal.
"Come on Daddy," I wink at him, touching his arm gently. He glances at me and nods, lowering Jadey-girl. She stands on the grass and we all look around. A huge expanse of emerald green grass and a never ending clear blue sky. No trees, no clouds - just a huge field and sky.
Colin and I watch Jadey stumble along the grass, dizzy from the spinning, and we smirk at each other. I can't believe I was ever that little...
"You're still little." Colin chuckles and I elbow him softly in the stomach.
"You know what I meant." I mutter, turning to face him for a second. He nods, and pulls me into a kiss. He goes to break away, but I pull him closer - we hardly see each other with Jadey being the age she is and the family issues still going. Just as Colin deepens the kiss, running his tongue over my much-bitten lip, we hear a piercing scream.
I whip around and see Jadey trying to squirm out of Crusher's grasp. NO!! I try to move, but I can't make my muscles work. Colin tries to tug me back into the kiss, but I yank myself out of his grasp. He looks hurt.
"Don't be such a prick tease." He whines and I gape at him. Colin's never said that before.
"That's our daughter!" I scream at him and Colin frowns, glancing around.
"What's our daughter?" He asks in confusion and I turn back to where Crusher is slowly crushing the life out of Jadey. Jadey's pale skin is going purple and I run towards her, but a glass wall stops me. I press myself against it, tears streaking down my cheeks.
"JADEY!" I scream desperately as I pound my fists on the glass. Jadey doesn't look up, but Crusher's eyes roll up to smirk at me as he starts to tighten his arms around Jadey's ribs. Jadey lets out a weak scream and I take a few steps back, praying, and sprint into the glass wall.
It throws me off - sending me flying backwards like I've touched an electric fence. When I land, I'm somewhere totally different. I stand up, brushing soil off my jeans, and glance around. The ground is all soil and the sky is grey, filled with huge puffs of cloud.
