Alba's POV

I walk through he forest, stunned, and think of Crusher.  He's already got a daddy for the waine and he's got the gene - so why haven't I been taken to some stodgy cave and impregnated yet?  I keep bumping into trees, but I barely notice - I'm a million miles away.  I bump into another tree and stumble.

"Sorry," I mutter to the tree as I step around it tiredly.

"Alba?" I turn my face up to the tree and see the moon behind it.  Almost full.  "Alba, are y'alright?" The tree demands; I try to focus on it, but the moon always screws with my brain.  "ALBA!" It shouts and I jump, startled.

"E-Eoin?" I stutter.

Don't stammer.

"Alba, we have t'get y'home." Eoin tells me and I shake my head slowly.

"I like it outside." I reply, confused.  Why does he want to take me inside when I could stay outside in the pretty moonlight, hidden in the trees.

"Alba?" Eoin's voice is cautious and I stare up at him, letting the moonlight soak my face.  My wolf whines and I feel that ache in my chest I always get near a full moon.  There's a wolf in me but I just can't get her out - she's trapped in this stupid fragile body.

"Yes'm." I mumble, smiling faintly at him.

"Alba, are y'alright?" Eoin asks worriedly as he peers into my face.

"Aye, I'm grand." I smile dreamily and Eoin mutters something under his breath.  Lunatic.

"Alba, y'should stay home with Erin." Eoin tells me slowly and I frown at him.

"Why just Erin?  Where're you  going?" I demand, standing on my tiptoes and prodding him in the chest.  Eoin easily holds both my wrists in his hands and I fall back onto the heel of my foot, pouting at him.

"I have t'talk t'some people." He says stiffly and I try my best to focus on his face.  He looks angry.

"What's up duck?" I smile at him and feel my mind drifting.

FOCUS!!  I shout at myself and try to concentrate on Eoin's face.

"It's just something Erin said." He mutters and I nod, not wanting to get in the middle of some sibling shit.  I got enough of that to last a lifetime and then some.

"OK." I nod and tug my wrists out of his grasp so I can wander back into the forest.

I walk slowly and as the moonlight is hidden by the trees, the calm it gives me ebbs away.  I feel my brain kick into gear and I wonder who Eoin's going to meet.  He looked pretty pissed about it.  What could Erin have said to him?

God, look at yourself - you're pathetic Fife.  Pining over some Irish guy who probably has millions of sluts better than you could dream of being.  I chew my lip as I think about what my brain's telling me.

"You take the high road, and I'll take the low road..." I look up at the sound of singing and see someone sitting in the tree I'm under.  I stare at the figure and note how dejected he looks, slumped against the trunk of the tree.

Every instinct screams against me as I climb the tree slowly, jumping from branch to branch until I'm on the other side of the trunk from the mystery man.  I scurry around the trunk so I'm on the branch above him.  He seems oblivious of my short legs swinging and my soft humming of the song he's singing.  I join in singing towards the end.

"While in sunshine the waters are sleeping, but the broken heart it kens nae second spring again, tho' the waefu' may cease free their greeting." I sing quietly and the guy snaps his head up to stare at me.  I gasp and fall right off my branch.
