Sophie

"So Foster, what on earth will the Black Swan test me on?" Keefe questioned as they made their way to the elevator.

Sophie shrugged. She swiped her thumb across a smooth panel and pressed the -12 floor.

"Probably values. And fighting ability. And guts. And bravery. And willingness to serve them and whatnot, how would I know? It was 12 years ago that I was tested!"

Keefe cast her a meaningful glance. "When you said you'd keep my identity a secret... You meant it, didn't you?"

Sophie's only reply was, "Mm."

Then she sighed. "I meant it, really. And if someone like you wants to actually have security here, then you have to have a supporter."

She stuck out a hand. "What do you say? We work together?"

"Well duh," Keefe grinned, then took her hand and shook it. "If I don't, you'll kill me on the spot."

Electricity jolted through Sophie's hand. She mentally cursed herself.

"Welcome, Mr Sencen," Agent Forkle greeted, giving Sophie a grateful nod.

She nodded back and slipped into a chair at the rectangular table beside Biana and Dex.

Keefe smirked. "'Sup."

"Mr Sencen, we've seen your ability to fight for what's right and your sense of justice. That's all we need to recruit you apart from a written exam that will determine your values. So-" Agent Squall was promptly interrupted.

"Hold on," Keefe held out his hands in the universal stop sign. "You're saying, you've been creepily watching me like psycho stalkers? Not cool, guys. Also, call me Keefe. Titles make me feel squirmy."

Agent Squall sighed and nodded. "As I was saying... " She took out a couple pieces of paper and handed it to Keefe. "You exam starts now."

Keefe snatched the papers and stared at them. It wasn't too hard. Just multiple choice. He'd ace it.

He twirled a pen between his fingers. 10 multiple choice. Pretty simple.

Question 1

If you came across a suspected member of the Neverseen, what would you do?

1. Scream and run away.

Keefe smirked at that. If anyone were to be a suspected member of the Neverseen, it would be him.

2. Report to your superiors and leave it to them.

As if he would ever do that. He was too stubborn.

3. Pretend you didn't see anything and stalk them.

4. Pull them out and make them confess.

Keefe circled 3. He'd totally do that. Once he decided which side was safer to stay at, that is.
