"I don't believe it," Lydia told Lilith and Stiles after they had explained that Scott had run off with the alpha pack. "Scott can't really be with them. He can't be."
"You didn't see the look on his face, though. It was-" He stopped himself with a sigh, shaking his head. It was strange to think that her cousin had abandoned them when things had gotten tough, thinking no one could come up with a plan good enough to save their parents. It was an insult really, he didn't trust them.
"Then what can I do?" The girl asked, Lilith glad she was willing to back them so quickly. Sadly, Lydia's tone didn't seem very positive. "I mean, I get that I'm some kind of like, human Geiger counter for death, but I don't know how to turn it on and off yet. All I know is that she tried to kill me because of-"
"Because of what?" The other two asked after she had paused, coming to some form of realization.
"When she called me a banshee, she was surprised by it. What if that's not why she tried to kill me?" She theorized, none of it making sense. It wasn't that Lydia wasn't valuable, the girl having proved her worth multiple times, but she didn't have enough grasp on her abilities to be the first piece on the board to be moved.
"Then why did she?" Lilith asked her friend, the redhead shaking her head.
"That's what we need to find out."

Lilith had driven separately from Stiles and Lydia, not wanting to leave her car behind in case she needed it. She had been looking all over the school for the two when she got a text from Lydia, saying they were headed to Morrell's office and to meet them there. "What's the plan?" She asked, meeting them outside the door. Stiles didn't respond, pushing it open only for them to see a girl alone in the office.
"Are you here for Ms. Morrell?" He asked the girl who let out a scoff.
"No, I thought this was gym class," she joked, obviously there for the guidance counsellor.
"Sweetheart, we're not in the mood for funny," Lydia snapped at the girl whose eyebrows raised in aggravation. "Do you know where she is?"
"If I did, I wouldn't be waiting here for twenty minutes," she groaned. "So how about you three back out the door and wait your turn."
"We're not here for a session," Lydia assured her, none of them moving.
"Well, I am. And I've got some serious issues to work on."
"Obviously," Lilith muttered, rolling her eyes. They didn't have time for this, and as awful as it sounds, she couldn't care less about the girl's problems, given their issue could bring danger to the whole city.
"Hey, wait, wait. You're Danielle. You're Heather's best friend," Stiles pointed out, probably recognizing her from Heather's party at the beginning of the year. Lilith hadn't gone, being a bit preoccupied, but she had known the girl pretty well before she died.
