LILITH NEVER TOLD the Argents about her text from Aether. When Allison asked if she had heard from him, she lied saying she had not. She felt tense all day, scared they would go back on their proposal and kill her anyways. She wasn't quite sure what they were, given she hadn't actually got to talk to them.

She still didn't feel safe once she got home, scared they would be searching for her. Without thinking, she headed straight for Derek's loft. Both Scott and Melissa had to head to work after she got home, so no one would be missing her there. She just needed somewhere safe, and to her, he was always safe.

Lilith knocked on the giant sliding door, Derek smiling on the other side as he opened it. "Hey, I didn't expect to see you so soon. I thought you would be jet lagged," he told her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. She reciprocated the hug, clutching tightly to his waist and burying her head in his chest. She didn't realise how much she had missed him until that moment, having him hold her.

Just the simple action of a hug brought her a peace that no one else could. Really, nothing else could. The witch was almost sure that had Aether not turned into a psychopath and they had gone on a date, she still wouldn't be able to get over Derek. She had fallen for him hard.

"Do you have a minute?" She asked, pulling away enough to look up at him. His brows furrowed in concern, giving her a nod.

"Of course, always," he answered leading her into his loft. They sat on the couch, her hand in his as her foot tapped nervously on the ground. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"While I was in France, I met this really cute guy, Aether. We exchanged numbers, but he never texted me back. Not until the last day, anyways, when he sent me this." She opened her phone, pulling up the text and handing it to him. Derek's face didn't change as he read it, but his shoulders tensing said enough. She couldn't quite read if he was angry or scared, not until he spoke anyways.

"You're out of France now, which is good, but I want you to stay here for the next few days, just until we know you're safe. That way, if something happens, you're not alone and you don't have to get Melissa involved," he grumbled, answering her questions. He was pissed. Despite his sour mood, Lilith wrapped her arms around him, practically throwing herself into his lap as she hugged him tightly. He put one hand in her hair, his other going around her waist.

"Thank you. I owe you so much." She felt him shake his head, putting his hands on her cheeks to move her so they were staring into each other's eyes.

"You owe me nothing, okay? I will never abandon you," he promised her, eyes flickering down at her lips. Lilith caught herself doing the same, lips parting at the thought of kissing him. They began to lean in slowly, both giving the other time to pull back if they didn't want to do it.

They were millimetres away when the door slid open, Lilith jumping off his lap and to the couch beside Derek quickly. She tucked her hair behind her ears as he cleared his throat, both looking at the ground as if it was suddenly a magnificent piece of art they'd never seen before. "Am I interrupting something?" Isaac asked with a smirk, knowing exactly what he did.
