Third Person P.O.V
It had been a couple of days since Wanda decided to make the confession, and the two girls still hadn't talked about it.
One of the many perks of being popular is that you're invited to every single party, and currently the group of friends found themselves at one. Natasha's head had started spinning long before she downed her second bottle of beer. She watched as Wanda made her way around the room as if she was the one hosting the party, handing drinks to people, cheering and dancing, laughing around with her new friends. She looked so happy, on contrary to the other red head that stood on the other side of the room, still processing the big bomb dropped on her the other day.
Natasha had always been a bit dense when it came to her own feelings, so for the past few hours she had been trying to get herself drunk, thinking the alcohol might do more good than bad and make her completely numb to her feelings. That way it would hurt less to watch Wanda move around like nothing had happened, like she didn't destroy her world and place her in a very bad place mentally. Wanda was subconsciously forcing Natasha to make a choice she had been postponing for far too long.
"Nat!" One of the boys yelled out, his voice barely audible over the loud music playing. "Come here!"
She finally saw someone waving her over, sneaking her way through the crowd, she tried not to touch any of the sweaty people dancing together. When she reached the boys, Natasha was greeted by each one of them with a quick hug, before Bucky handed her another beer.
"Nat, you look like you just saw a ghost." Bucky felt the need to comment.
"And I still look better than you." Natasha shot back, a smile growing on her face as Bucky received sympathetic pats on the back from their friends.
The group of friends stood in a corner, not caring about the people dancing around behind them. They laughed, they passed even more beers to one another, they had fun together. Everything was fine before Sam decided to make a risky comment.
"Look at her. She's gorgeous." Sam said, the group of friends turning around to look in the direction he was looking in.
Wanda stood not that far from the group, facing away from them. She was talking to a couple, Hope and Scott. Natasha's stare must have been too intense because Scott looked up and over Wanda's shoulder, and when his eyes caught Natasha's, he sent her a smile. The brunette girl standing next to him noticed the interaction, sending Natasha a smile too before walking away. Scott followed after her and left a confused Wanda behind.
This had Wanda wondering what happened, the red head turning around only to see all of her friends look at her as if she was a piece of meat. Usually this would leave anyone uncomfortable, no one would take this as a compliment, but Wanda only sent them a smile before walking away in search for other people to talk to. Natasha had a faint feeling the smile was intended to her, and the relief she felt at the moment was indescribable.
"Come on, we all know she's Pietro sister. She's off limits to us." Steve commented, all of their eyes still on her as she walked away from them, dancing away with her new friends.
Natasha's gaze shifted to the other side of the room. In another corner of the room stood Pietro and another boy, gazing at each other like lovesick puppies, unaware of their surroundings. Wanda was still dancing with her friends in the middle of the room, dancing with some girls, leaving Natasha's blood to boil.
"If you think that way she's never going to get a relationship." Bucky added.
"I don't think she's after a relationship." Steve said.
