Third Person P.O.V

Wanda is in love with Natasha.

Of this, she already knows.

In fact, it's the only fact that's remained constant in her life. The only thing Wanda Maximoff has ever been sure of, is that she's in love with Natasha Romanoff.

She knew this when they were 5 and 7 years old, and Natasha had played with her at the playground, taking the little girl under her wing. Wanda knew this, when they were 14 and 16, heartbroken when she got the news that Natasha's family was moving three towns away.

She even knew this when they were 18 and 20, when Natasha - who had kept her promise of staying in touch no matter what, true - had driven from three towns over to celebrate her eighteen birthday, hands full of presents and a pretty smile on her face.

She knew this in university, and even after this. Wanda had no doubt she was in love with Natasha. She knew this now, when they're 23 and 25, she's a script writer and Natasha's a ballerina at the most prestigious dance school in their country.

But there was one thing.

Natasha is not in love with Wanda.

During all of Wanda's long everlasting crush on Natasha, Carol was there to watch it all. 'Pathetic pining' is what Carol called it, always reminding Wanda to go out there and experience real true love, one where it doesn't have Wanda looking at Natasha with heart eyes. But Wanda thought Carol was right, Natasha never noticed her like that.

Wanda thought, that maybe, just maybe, Natasha never considered her a potential romantic partner, because to her, Wanda would always be the little girl that she played with at the playground, whose tears she would wipe when she fell from the slide.

And thus begun - what Maria dubbed - the Great Makeover. Maria and Carol tried convincing her that Natasha already thought she was the greatest thing to exist, but none of it worked.

Wanda was set on this.

She starts with movie nights. Actually, more specifically, she stops them. No more Sunday nights spent wrapped up in blankets, eating chocolate fondue with Natasha as the two watch barbie movies. No more nights debating what barbie movie was best.

"What?" Natasha asked, her big smile slowly dimming being replaced by shock, when Wanda opens the door on a Sunday night, clearly dressed to go out. "But? Our movie nights?"

Wanda shrugs, fiddling with the pearl necklace Natasha had given her last year for christmas.

"I'm kinda over it, you know? The whole barbie thing. I'm not really in that phase anymore. Besides, some girls at work asked me for drinks tonight so."

Natasha blinked.

And then the red head smiled. She put a fifty dollar bill in Wanda's hand, and another one in her purse.

"Our little one is going out for drinks! Here, the first round is on me okay?" Natasha said, Wanda swallows, her chest heavy.

After that, cartoon nights are out too 'That's okay, I only watch them to have something to talk to you about.' Was all Natasha said about the situation, reaffirming Wanda's fear that yes, Natasha probably thought they were childish.

After a while, Wanda decides to start working out. She believed that maybe if she was a bit buffer, Natasha wouldn't see her as the little one anymore.

But all she got from the red head was:
