"Don't." Natasha starts but Wanda ignores hers and giggles.

"She's my ex-girlfriend." Wanda says, with a shit-eating grin and her friend blinks at the two confused.

"I'm her wife." Natasha says, through grit teeth.

This happens many, many times, Wanda having a lot of fun making people confused and watching their reaction. She loves seeing the confusion in their faces, the looks people give them because, why on earth would someone be around their ex.

Their closest friends obviously know it's a joke, and they have fun with it too, referring to Natasha as the ex-girlfriend all the time.

Until, cue the one time where Wanda gets so used to referring to Natasha as her ex-girlfriend, that she forgets that not everyone is aware that it's a joke.

After a long morning of work, once it's close to lunch time, Wanda sits back in her chair, pulling out her phone and laughing, before looking up at her coworker Theo.

"My ex girlfriend won't stop texting me about dinner." She laughs, looking back at her laptop.

Theo, her coworker, happens to have a massive crush on her and she doesn't know it yet. He was planning on confessing soon, but what he didn't realise is that Wanda means that her wife, keeps asking what she wants for dinner when Wanda's already told her she's happy to eat whatever Natasha wants to eat.

"Why don't you block her?" He asks.

"Why would I do that?" Wanda asks confused.

Theo opens his mouth to speak but their boss, walks in, calling all of them for a meeting.

The day goes on as usual, filled with work. Natasha had texted Wanda during the day that she was coming to pick her up so they could go to their special dinner, so Wanda didn't leave early as she usually does.

Theo saw this as his shot, and walked up to her once he was done with work. He walks up to her desk, where she's sat on the chair, scrolling through social media. She notices him, and looks up at him sending him a smile.

"Hi."

"Hi, Theo. What's up?" She asks.

"I was actually wondering, if maybe, I don't know-" But he never gets to finish his sentence because Carol walks up to them, with a grin.

"Wanda, your ex is coming up to see you." Carol says, and laughs.

Carol was the maid of honour at the wedding, so she knew all about their marriage and the joke of them being exes. She indulged in it, to Natasha's dismay, and she loved teasing them.

But Theo, he doesn't know. And he's starting to believe that Wanda has an actual ex girlfriend that stalks her on the daily.

When the elevator doors open, Theo sees her. She doesn't seem taller than Wanda, but her heels put her above her height. He sees her slim figure dressed in a brown long coat and a smile on her face. And he's mad. He's even more mad when Wanda walks over to the woman, and she lights up like Christmas has come early.

He watches as Natasha grabs Wanda's waist and pulls her in, her face getting close to Wanda's. He can't see Wanda's face, due to her having her back facing him, but he's sure she isn't happy.

"Hey!" Theo yells, startling the few people around them.

Natasha and Wanda look up, both of them looking confused.

"What?"

"Get away from her." Theo demands, angrily storming over to the pair. Wanda blinks. Natasha tilts her head to the side like a confused puppy, her arms still wrapped around Wanda's waist.

"Huh?"

"You guys are over." Theo huffs. "You need to let her go." He says, watching as Wanda's jaw drops and Natasha blinks, utterly confused. Carol holding back her laughter.

"We're... over?" Natasha turns to Wanda, who has an amused expression. "But what about our vows, baby? Til death do us part, right?" She says with a pout, and Wanda has to hold herself back from kissing it away. She flushes beet red but somehow she manages to look over at Theo.

"What are you talking about-"

"This is that ex that you're always talking about, right?" He demands. "The one that won't leave you alone. Look ma'am, move on, Wanda is not going to dinner with you today or ever again."

"Oh my." Carol says, she's ecstatic. What a shitshow, she loves it.

Natasha's expression grows flat. She lets go of Wanda's waist and looks at the red head, a neutral expression on her face, but clearly annoyed at her for putting them in this situation.

"You're still referring to me as that?" Natasha asks, her voice laced with annoyance.

"Wait, did you think I actually meant an ex?" Wanda asks, ignoring Natasha's comment. And it's Theo's turn to be confused, all while Carol does her best to hold back her laughter.

"I'm your wife." Natasha says, unnecessarily loudly, holding up her leg hand and putting it in front of Wanda's face, showing off her gold ring. Theo's jaw drops and Wanda stares at the ring. "We're married." Natasha says, looking at Theo this time.

"Wait...so all those time where you said your ex was texting you-" Theo says, horror dawning in his eyes. Wanda grimaces.

"What the fuck, Wanda? How many times have you referred to me as your ex?" Natasha shrieks. "I didn't plan seven different proposals just to be referred to as your ex." She says, and Carol can't hold it any longer, and cackles.

"You spent 9 months putting together a proposal, just to be able to call Wanda your wife." Carol says, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Only for people to think you're her..." She's laughing too hard.

"I hate you, Danvers." Natasha says.

"Her ex-girlfriend!" Carol shrieks, crying of laughter.

"I'm so sorry, Nat." Wanda says, her doe eyes in full force.

"I hate it here." Natasha mutters to herself, as Carol nearly stumbles to the floor in laughter.
