Wanda looks over at her, bottom lip caught between her teeth, and eyes big, she was caught off guard. One moment she was enjoying her popcorn with Natasha's hand massaging the back of her neck, entertained by the Kiss Cam on the screen, and the next she was the one on said screen.

Natasha looks between her doe eyes and her lips, and slowly starts leaning in.

Is this how she planned to kiss Wanda for the first time? No.

Is this the ideal scenario for a confession? Also, no.

But, with the adrenaline of having everyone cheer for them, she goes for it.

Because, really, it's about time. They've been best friends for so many years that she doesn't even remember when it all started, she just doesn't even remember her life before Wanda.

Her feelings came uninvited, but she grew to accept them. She just wasn't sure how to let them be known to the red head.

Wanda's jaw drops slightly as she follows Natasha's movements, the sudden proximity making her heart speed up, and she knows she has to put a stop to it.

It's not like she can lean away and embarrass her best friend in front of so many people, but she can't possibly let a kiss happen.

So, she turns his head.

The feeling of plump lips hits her cheek, and she is relieved that she managed to look away just in time to avoid the kiss. People cheer, and she gives the camera a smile until it goes away, hand shaking in the popcorn bucket.

Natasha pulls away, facing the front.

Wanda doesn't fail to notice the way her knees point the other way now, trying to sit as far from her as possible, but she doesn't say anything.

In fact, they don't even look at each other for the remaining time of the game. Natasha wants to perish. She just ruined everything. She has lost her friendship with her favourite person.

When the game ends, Natasha gets up and walks away without waiting for Wanda. She's embarrassed, slightly humiliated, and she doesn't want to risk being asked about what she was going to do, because how is she meant to tell her best friend that she has been in love with her for years?

Wanda rushes to get up and follow her, pushing through the crowds trying not to lose Natasha between the bodies of students still celebrating the win of their college's team.

She couldn't care less about the team right now.

She has to ask Natasha about the kiss. Well, almost kiss.

"Nat." She calls once she's close enough, but the other doesn't stop, doesn't even budge. "Natasha, stop."

"Go away, ok?" Natasha says, still walking, and still facing the front. "I'm sorry for what I was going to do, I understand if you hate me now, but please don't—"

"I said stop, Nat." Wanda jogs, holding her by the forearm. "Look at me."

Natasha feels her heart in her throat, too scared to meet Wanda's eyes, until she feels Wanda's thumb caressing her arm, encouraging Natasha to look at her, just as requested.

And it's stuff like this that led Natasha to an awful decision. The little touches, the smiles. To think someone as amazing as Wanda would ever reciprocate her feelings is obviously insane, but then Wanda does stuff like this, and Natasha's a fool.
