JURINE HELD A COUPLE OF BELL PEPPERS in her hand, feeling for firmness and checking for size to use for dinner, a basket under her arm filled with other items. She grabbed a plastic bag to add a few red, yellow, and green bell peppers, about to tie a knot when she heard a loud yell.

"JURINE!"

"Fuck!" The peppers flew out of her hands, falling out of the bag and rolling across the tile. Turning her head, she had no time to react when Atsumu hugged her. She stumbled back a few steps with his weight hitting her and she clung to his shirt to keep from falling. She felt his arms go down to her waist, securing her.

She narrowed her eyes. "Do you know that there is a way to greet people other than tackling the shit out of them?"

Atsumu smiled. "But they're not as fun. And how can I not hug my girlfriend?"

Oh god, can someone please get him off of me?

As if in answer to her cry, Atsumu let out a squawk of surprise as someone pulled him off of her by his shirt. He flailed, knees bending as he fell, glaring at Osamu in annoyance.

"I don't believe this is where the rice is, dumbass." Osamu sighed, dropping his brother to the ground. He looked up at Jurine. "It seems he got distracted like a puppy usually does. I apologize."

Jurine knelt down to pick up her peppers, checking them for bruising. "It's fine. My peppers are okay so it's all good." She set them in the bag, tied them, and added it to her pile of items.

"What are you making?" Atsumu asked.

"Food," she replied, moving along to grab some other things. "My dad's coming home so I'm making dinner for him, my mom, and I."

"Oh, that's right. Niko said your parents are away a lot for work?"

She thinned her lips at his comment. "Yeah. He's a management consultant for a bunch of companies so he travels a lot."

"And your mom?"

Jurine huffed. "Don't you two have your own stuff to get? I'm sure you need to get going." She turned her back to Atsumu.

Osamu kicked Atsumu in the ass, telling him to go get some stuff for dinner. Atsumu pouted, but stalked off to get his stuff while telling Jurine he'd call her later, blowing her a kiss in the process.

"Talking with him is like talking with a child," she stated, more to herself than to Osamu.

"I agree. You should try living with him," Osamu grumbled. "He steals food and lies about it."

Jurine chuckled. "Yeah, that sounds about right." She tugged on the ties of her hoodie. "How's it going with Nikoru?"

She watched as his mouth curled downward in a frown or grimace. "No offense, but your cousin is quite exasperating. She pops up like a shadow wherever I go. Is it just with me or . . .?"
