THERE WERE MANY THINGS that pissed Jurine Midorikawa off. Bullshit, dramatic people, people who open chips upside down. However, there was one thing that pissed Jurine off more than any of the aforementioned things combined.

The abomination named Atsumu Miya.

Jurine didn't understand what was so great about him. It was true, his talent as a setter was phenomenal, but who cares? There were plenty of people in the world born with natural talent and those who worked their asses off to get to where they were. So, with all the brain capacity she possessed, she couldn't fathom why Atsumu Miya was so fucking popular and loved by everyone.

She hated everything about him.

His hair. His smile. His cockiness. His voice. And she wanted to punch him every time she saw his face.

Like right now, and he wasn't even in her vicinity. She also wanted to punch the annoying girls gossiping and shrieking like idiots as she walked by them.

"Atsumu is so amazing," one of the girls said, letting out an overexaggerated squeal with two of her friends. "Did you see how great his sets were at the morning practice earlier? There's no way we aren't going to take Nationals!"

What was her name again? She vaguely recognized her from last year. Not that it even matters. Jurine just wanted her nasally voice to shut the fuck up.

"Tell me about it! I'm not sure who's better looking though. Atsumu or Osamu," her friend on the left replied. "God, what I wouldn't give to be the fly on the wall during their practices. I could watch them all day long."

"You mean you can watch Atsumu all day long," the third girl added, rolling her eyes playfully.

Jurine's eye twitched. Can you three be any more pathetic? Go get some damn water if you're that thirsty.

Jurine kept on walking, her hand balling into a tight fist as their voices grew quiet.

"God, can the girls here be any more annoying?" she remarked, tucking her long blonde hair over her shoulder. "I think I'm actually losing brain cells from listening to them."

A cackle of laughter sounded beside her as her cousin, Nikoru, tried to hide her weird hyena laughter. She failed.

"Why the fuck are you laughing? This is serious."

Nikoru waved a hand at Jurine's words. "Just you. It's just hilarious to me how fired up you get when you so much as hear Atsumu's name. You really need to find better things to hate. Like clowns or mimes. He's not that bad."

"I have my reasons."

"Like I said: you should find better things to hate. He's harmless."

Jurine's nose scrunched up as she looked at her cousin. Am I really related to her? Jurine and Nikoru were the same age - though Nikoru was half a year older and Jurine was five centimeters taller - but they could honestly be mistaken for twins. And they have for years. However, despite this fact, they were as far from being alike as possible.
