"Oh my gosh!" Kendall came running towards me before pulling me into a hug and pulling me up off the ground. "Are you ok!?" She says as she pulls back and grabs my face, looking me over. "Holy shit, your neck."
I grab her hands and held them as I smiled at her. "I'm fine." I saw the worry in her eyes, which I knew she would be worried cause when I called her and told her, she freaked out and said she was coming right now.
Which I thought she wasn't being for real but she's here after getting off the phone with her this morning. It was now in the afternoon and she called me, telling me she was here.
We met at the apartment cause I needed to get the rest of my things. I had to get my car also, so Logan brought me and dropped me off.
She didn't seem like she wanted to leave me but I told her that Kendall was coming here and I'll be fine. I kept watching her stall as she was standing around then finally leaving a few minutes after.
Kendall came a few hours later, so I had plenty of time to grab my clothes and place them in bags. I grabbed everything that I needed as I was trying to get out of the apartment as quickly as I could.
I heard knocking on the door and got a little scared but Kendall was yelling on the other side, so I knew it was her.
"I can't believe.. Oh my gosh." She looks at me as I was placing the bags on the counter. "I'm so glad it's over but.. your neck, Carson."
"And my legs." I slightly smile. "She hit me with a belt multiple times." I pointed to my side. "Even my side."
"Does it still hurt?" She asks.
Nodding, I sighed. "Yes. It's sometimes hard to move or walk. My legs are covered in marks. I put some cream on it that the medical people gave me but I couldn't hardly touch my skin."
She looks at me for a moment before crossing her arms. "You think they'll let me in her jail cell for a few minutes?"
Smiling, I shook my head. "I don't think so."
"What I'd do if I could get alone time with that woman." She shook her head as she looked around. "So, what's going to happened to this place? It's not in your name, right?"
"No."
"But you can put it in your name." She suggested. "Or burn it to the ground."
Shaking my head, I made a face. "I don't want this place. It has too many bad memories. I wouldn't be able to sleep here cause I'll keep thinking about Sandra or what happened. I hate walking into this place."
Kendall sighs as she looks at me. "You're free, Carson. You're finally free after almost two years." She watches me as I sat at the counter. "I'm so happy." She smiles.
"Me too."
"When you told me what happened.. I was in shock but at the same time, I was thinking oh my gosh yes." She smiles. "I came here as fast as I could."
Smiling at her, I look at the bag on the counter and the bag that was on the floor. "Yeah.. now I needed to figure out what to do." I look around. "Where to live."
"You can live with me."
Looking at her, I slightly smile. "I have college."
"Transfer."
I shrugged. "I don't want to leave.. yet. I want to finish college here."
She nods then crosses her arms. "I understand. I just.. I don't want to have to worry about you. Where you're at and what you're doing. I want to know that you're safe." She looks at me for a moment. "Where did you stay last night? Here?"
