Chapter 4 - Promise

Dabi got out a few more beers, mochi, and popcorn. He wasn't sure if Ayla would be hungry, he was a little full after that dinner. When was the last time he had a real homemade meal? Too long that's for sure. 

"Hey Dabi, I think I'm gonna need to borrow something from you to wear."

He walked over to her, she was still in a towel. "What do you need?"

She was a little embarrassed to say especially after what just happened. "Panties" she whispered.

He definitely didn't pick any up, he looked but thought, well he didn't know what he thought. "Hang tight, I'll get you something." He took off to grab a pair of his boxer briefs. "Here you can wear these, just think of them as shorts or something. Tomorrow I'll take you to go buy what you need."

"Black. Why am I not surprised" she smiled as he handed them to her. "Thank you" she saw he was handing her a shirt too.

"I figured you would be ok for tonight in one of my shirts, I only grabbed a few things for you and what I did grab probably isn't comfortable to sleep in."

"That's perfect thank you. Ok give me a second and I'll be right there."

"You're welcome." He went back to put the movie in. He turned to see Ayla walking towards the couch and sit down. She looked gorgeous even in his clothes, he wanted to to grab her and rip those clothes off. Instead he just sat on the couch next to her.

"So how scary is this movie going to be? Don't be mad if it makes me go to sleep. I watched murder mysteries to go to bed." Ayla grabbed a mochi and gave Dabi a smug smile.

"Hmm is that a fact? Well I'll  sit close by just in case you can't handle it. I'll warn you I have an awesome surround sound so that gives it the extra scare factor."

"Whatever" she said as she threw the mochi at him.

Dabi easily caught it in his mouth and ate it. "Thank you, I love those" he said licking his lips.

Ayla stared at him and bit her lip. She shook it off and grabbed one for herself and pouted, "whatever. Start it."

Dabi loved how adorable she looked as she sat there pouting. He had to stop himself from pulling her on top of him. "I think you're going to like this."

This wasn't like any of the films she was use to. She tried her best to not get close to Dabi out of spite but that only lasted for 30 minutes. It started with her grabbing his arm but then she started to jump and grab him harder.

"I can stop it and put something else on."

She could tell he said it out of concern and not poking fun. "No I want to finish it, I hate not knowing how movies end."

"Ok" he leaned back and pulled her on top of him and held her. He was hesitant at first but she didn't pull away. She was actually snuggling closer to him.

3:00 am - Dabi and Ayla were sound asleep on the couch holding each other. Neither one had made it to the end of the movie. Ayla started to move and nuzzled closer to his neck giving him a light kiss. Dabi let out a soft moan and held her a little tighter. This was the first time he was in a deep sleep, Ayla unknowingly was using her healing on him. Almost like a white noise machine but for his pain. This was the first time he felt peaceful and was fully relaxed.

Dabi was a bit groggy and started to stretch a bit until he realized someone was in his arms. She looked so peaceful in his arms, she fit perfectly. Dabi needed to get up and go handle some quick business but he didn't want to leave this moment. He moved the hair from her face and slowly caressed her cheek with his thumb. Ayla smiled and he felt her arms tighten around him.
