Chapter 2 - Nice to meet you

Dabi had her settled in a safe room and immediately started calling his contacts to see what he could find. Being the boss of the underground was something he despised but it did allow him to live a semi free life. He had hoped to one day walk away and let his brothers run this world but they were young and he really didn't want this life for them.

After he took out his father, his sister and mother wanted a quiet life away from every one and everything. He made sure they were always protected and well taken care of. He asked his most trusted friend and body guard Inferno to watch them and took care of him as well. He did all of this for his mother because she was the one hurt the most by his father. Having to suffer and watch as her children were pushed beyond what any one human could handle. The day he killed his father he was afraid she would hate him for it. When he went to tell his mother what he did, she held him and told him he was perfect and saved them all. This is why he stays, to keep his family protected.

After a few hours he checked on Ayla, he started to worry that he hit her a little too hard and had his trusted doctor come check on her.

The Doctor informed Dabi that she was fine but her body was adjusting to her quirk and she was mentally drained. He hadn't seen a quirk like hers before, it was a type of cooling and healing quirk but didn't know anything else about her. When Dabi explained what happened the Doctor was curious and asked to be called when she woke up so he could talk to her.
The Doctor handed him a bracelet that Dabi knew all to well.
"NO." Dabi yelled.
"Just in case, I'll leave it in the kitchen. Let me know when she's ready to talk."
Dabi felt better knowing she was just resting and would wake up soon. He did not want to use that on her, he had to think of a way to keep her calm when she did wake up.

He knew who would be perfect for this job.. he just hoped she wasn't still upset with him. He dailed the number hoping she would answer.
"Wait, give me a second Gem, I need your help."

Ayla was in a coma and Brooke sat next to the hospital bed holding her hand, replaying that moment in her head over and over.

When she heard the crash over the phone she quickly ran outside. Ayla had said she was close. Brooke looked down the street and immediately her heart dropped. She ran towards the crowd of people and dailed the police. After she pushed people away she was able to get to Ayla's side. She had prepared herself for what she might see but this was worse than she imagined. Ayla's body was twisted, her helmet was split and there was too much blood. When paramedics arrived they said she was still alive but barely. Once she arrived at the hospital she went into surgery immediately, she had internal bleeding and intracranial hematoma. While she was in surgery their lawyer came to tell Brooke that Ayla had given her Power of Attorney and in case of death Brooke would get everything.

She had no idea Ayla had done this or when. "Why? I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to make this decision. You have done so much for me, you saved me. That night I had gone to that bar to get blackout drunk, I felt that I had nothing to give this world. Then I heard you sing, it was like an angel touched my heart and filled it with love. I've never heard so much emotion and it was fate you singing that song.
