Chapter 8 - Lost

Ayla stretched awake, the mid-day sun shining through the window. Has she ever felt this at peace before? Maybe when she was a kid with her parents but never like this. This is what it must feel like to be in heaven, pure happiness. She reached out but instead of touching Dabi she felt petals, rose petals. She sat up surprised and realized she was covers in a rainbow of rose petals. Red, yellow and your normal colors but even, dark purple, blue in three different shades and even black velvety ones. She started to cry when she saw a note on his pillow.

Happy Valentine's Day, this is my first one and I want to make sure I make it perfect for you.

She slowly got out of bed not wanting to crush any of the beautiful petals. She saw he had set out a wine colored fitted lace dress and nude heels for her. She shook her head just thinking he set all this up while she was sleeping. Which meant he didn't even sleep at all.

"That dummy" she said smiling. She saw a path to the bathroom and another coming out, obviously meant for her to get ready. She smiled and followed the path to the bathroom and quickly got ready. She got dressed, did a natural makeup look, quickly put some styling cream through her curls leaving it down and followed the other path. It led her out to the small garden and stood shocked at what waited for her.

As soon as she reached the garden their song started playing

There was candles that were on either side of the path that led to a table with a dark velvet blue table cloth on it and two chairs. A bouquet of roses of every color in the middle with two covered plates, which Ayla assumed had a wonderful dish ready for them. There was a huge plush teddy bear and a ton of those cheesy red heart shaped balloons. She got closer to the table and saw another note

When she did there he was in a black suit with a deep Persian blue button up shirt. His hair was combed back and he held a dark blood red rose in his hand.

"Happy Valentine's Day my Angel. I wanted to make this special and didn't really know what to do so I just kinda did a little of everything."

"This is the most unbelievable ... am I dreaming? Is this really happening?"

"It's too much, I knew it." He lowered his head and looked disappointed.

Ayla ran to him "Oh god, no Touya. This is perfect. It's just like a scene in all those romantic movies. I've never had anyone do this for me before. I always thought those scenes were stupid and unrealistic BUT the whole thing .. the rose petals, the note, the dress, the paths ... EVERYTHING. It's perfect and I feel so loved." She wrapped her arms around his waist and started to tear up. "I love you Touya Todoroki."

He felt a new warmth go through him and held her face in his hands.
"I love you too Ayla. I accepted that I would always be alone but now .. you have opened my heart. I have never felt this type of warmth before. It gives me life and I want to take a new path in life with you by my side." He kissed her softly at first, wanting to feel her lips against his.
