There was a steady beeping and a medically clean smell. Pain. The pain was all over, a burning feeling. The body screaming not wanting to move. No, couldn't move. Why can't she move. Ayla was forcing her eyes to slowly open. Even that was a struggle but when her eyes opened she wanted to close them again. She felt blinded but slowly blinked until her eyes adjusted.

She tried lifting her head to look around but she realized she was hooked to a bunch of machines. She couldn't even talk if she wanted to since she had a tube down her throat. All she could do is think 'What happened?'

A nurse walked in to check vitals and saw that Ayla was awake and quickly called for the doctor.

"Miss Dawn, it's ok. You've been in a coma for almost two weeks. You were in an accident."

'2 weeks? Where was Dabi and the others'

"Miss Dawn, I'm Dr. Robert Young. The nurse is going to remove the endotracheal tube. Now you will feel sore so don't try to talk too much too quickly. I know you have many questions."

Alya let the nurse take out the tubes and yes her throat burned from it. She coughed and said "Dabi, where's Dabi?"

Dr. Young gave a little smile but looked towards the nurse confused. "We don't have anyone down by that name that has been in to see you. We only have Brooke that has been to visit you."

"She just went to get some lunch downstairs, I'll grab her," the nurse quickly left.

"No that can't be right, that means Brooke is here too but no Dabi would be here. There was a fire and ..." she started to get frantic.

"Miss Dawn. Ayla. Please calm down, I don't want to sedate you. We can figure this out together calmly."

His voice sounded very strong but soft, like her father. "Ok, the last thing I remember was I was in a club singing but Dabi was there to rescue me from Aizawa who had kidnapped me."

Dr. Young and let her finish. He reached for her hand and there was sadness when he spoke. "Sounds like a lot has happened to you. I don't want to shatter this world you were a part of but here is what has been going on since I started taking care of you. 2 weeks ago you were in a terrible car accident. We did not think you would recover at all. So hearing you speak clearly and coherently is already wonderful. It seems that while your brain was healing itself it put you in this alternate world to help you."

'Ok wow, I love this Doctor. He could have said I was crazy but he believes me.' Ayla then realized that what she was living didn't happen and started to cry. "So he isn't real? The few months never happened?"

Dr. Young gripped her hand tighter, "Maybe not here but for you, in your mind it did. I can't tell you what to believe but I know when we have tragic events out brain will show us alternative ways of dealing with traumatic events. Some people claim to see God or heaven, even people they've lost. In your case it sent you to an alternate universe. It's up to you to decide if it was real or not." He let go noticing the nurse coming back with Brooke. "I'm only telling you this because I feel a strong connection to you, you remind me of my daughter. She was in a terrible accident but she never recovered."

Brooke ran in crying "Ayla, you're awake. I'm so happy you came back to me."

Dr. Young coughed, "I've let Miss Dawn know a little of what she's been through but if you want to tell her the details just take it slow. She needs time to adjust and take everything in."

"Ayla do you remember anything from that night? Do you want me to tell you what's been going on?"

Ayla smiled at Brooke, "Maybe in a little bit, it's strange but I feel a little tired. What is going to happen now Doc what's the plan?"
