Percy

It was nearing the end of October and Percy had started to enjoy his time at Hogwarts. Nico kept visiting and Percy no longer complained he welcomed the company. He was also glad that things between him and Nico were no longer awkward. After Nicos' confession in the summer Percy really didn't know how to handle it and ended up distancing himself from Nico but know he found that it was easier.

Percy was also participating more in school. Spells he had no use for but he found Potions, care of Magical Creatures, Herbology and some of the other classes interesting. He now answered questions in class and actually did some of the homework assigned.

He regularly talked with Annabeth, his mom, and his friends back at camp. One thing he found he couldn't do very well at Hogwarts was train. He and Nico together turned the empty room downstairs into a small training room where they could spar, but Percy felt that he still lacked physical activity.

He asked a Ravenclaw one day if there were any sports teams at Hogwarts and was horrified when he was told they only played one sport! It was called Quidditch and for a moment he thought about trying out. He decided against it for two reasons, one he wasn't sure they'd let him play because technically he wasn't a Gryffindor or a wizard and two it was played on brooms. Flying brooms. He couldn't be sure that if he did play that he wouldn't be knocked out of the sky by a bolt of lightning.

The first game of the season was approaching and Percy made the decision that he'd watch it to see what all the fuss was about. Besides from what he'd heard there were some pretty famous people playing. In the time Percy had been at Hogwarts he tried to find as much as he could on the wizarding world. He didn't read many books because his dyslexia and ADHD wouldn't allow it but he asked some of the students, the giant squid in the lake and some of the other creatures that could talk. One name kept popping up Harry Potter.

Percy looked into the kids' history and was quite impressed. The kid had gone through some stuff. Percy also learned that Harry was sort of like himself, meaning trouble seemed to follow him wherever he went. Aware of the promise he had made to the Headmistress Percy started to watch Harry.

Keeping an eye on Harry also gave Percy more of an inside look at the social workings of Hogwarts. Harry was obviously the most popular kid and Harry's best friends seemed to be a pretty brunette named Hermione, who looked to be the schools Annabeth, and Ron a tall red haired boy who was dating Hermione. Harry was also apparently dating the red heads sister Ginny all of them were in Gryffindor.

There was also the Syltherins or as Percy thought of them, the Anti-Gryffindors. According to a pretty Ravenclaw named Cho the Syltherins had undergone a change in leadership. Draco Malfoy the former most hated boy in Hogwarts was no longer at Hogwarts for reasons that Hogwarts students wouldn't say other than calling him a traitor. Now the supreme leader of the snake club was Theodore Nott one of the Syltherins Percy met earlier in the year. Nott's lackeys included one Blaise Zabini, a Goyle (whatever that is Percy had no idea) and two girls Pansey Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode.

Percy had his fair share of bullies growing up and knew how to handle them but the only thing he could think about when he saw the Syltherins was how unfortunately named they were. Theodore wasn't really a name you trembled in fear at. Pansey Parkinson sounded like a name you'd give a flower with and old person disease and Percy could already think of all the names you could call her 'don't be a pansy, Pansey'. Goyle and Millicent Bulstrode just sounded wrong.

So he was feeling pretty confident that he had nothing to worry about when it was announced the first Quidditch game of the year would be Gryffindor verse Syltherin.

He was one of the first people in the bleachers on game day. They were towers high off the ground so the audience could have a good view of the game. Percy sat with the Gryffindors and was surprised when the seats filled fast. The entire school had shown up. It was then he started to realize what a big deal this game was.
