Percy

People may laugh and call Percy a ‘Kelp Head’ or ‘Seaweed Brain’ but he could be quite perceptive at times. One of the few things Percy had learned in his demigod style of life was that all good things must come to an end. And he was certainty having a good moment.

Firstly and most importantly Annabeth was no longer mad. She’d gotten over her anger about being left out of the exchange for a few months and she no longer glared at Percy and Nico every waking moment. Percy assumed part of this was due to Hermione. Annabeth and Hermione had been spending a lot of time together in the library ever since they’d met and both walked away from their study sessions with a smile.

Another reason why Percy seemed to be having a good moment was the fact all of his friends seemed to be getting along with the wizards. Seeing it gave Percy a great sense of accomplishment and he was happy that it looked like this merger of their worlds might actually work.

Percy also liked that he was getting a chance to spend more time with his friends mainly Thalia and Grover. Because Grover was amerced in his new job as a lord of the wild and Thalia was always off with the hunters Percy found he didn’t get to see them as much as he’d like to.

All these added up to the conclusion that Percy was having a good moment and it would likely soon end.

It happened in the middle of the day on a weekend. Everyone was doing their own thing Thalia was outside the little house doing some target practice, Jason and Piper were making out in the kitchen, Nico was doing whatever it is that Nico does, and Annabeth was studying while Percy unhelpfully and annoyingly tried to help her.

“B! The answer is B!” he shouted shifting his weight on the couch to get a better look at the paper in her hands.

Annabeth glared up at him, “Seaweed brain this isn’t even multiple choice!”

“Hay I’m just trying to help,”

“Well stop!”

“Hay I’m just trying to help,”

“Well stop!”

Percy opened his mouth ready with a comeback but before he could say anything the front door bust open with a loud bang.

“Guys you really need to see this!” Grover yelled as he stumbled over the threshold.

Jason peeked his head out from the kitchen, “What in Hades is going on?”

Grover stood where he’d burst in panting. Percy noted that he was no longer wearing his disguise of jeans and shoes. “Grover,” he said, “tell us what happened,”

Grover took a big breath, “There’s something you guys need to see in the Forbidden Forest,”

“Huh, what is it?” Annabeth put down her homework.

Grover shook his head, “I can’t explain it, I have to show it to you but I think coming here may have been a mistake,” he didn’t elaborate just beckoned them towards the door.

Percy and Annabeth shared a look and started towards the door. Percy could hear Jason and Piper behind him, “Nico!” he yelled as he exited the house, and “If you’re here we’re all going to check something out in the forest,”

Grover led them into the forest walking as a fast as he could. He looked really nervous and kept muttering to himself.

“What’s going on?” Thalia and Nico appeared behind them. Thalia still had her bow in hand.
