As my consciousness came back to me, I remembered the events that happened, clear as day. Those seemed to be all of my memories up until I was grabbed and knocked out. And as Syobai confirmed over the phone, he was paid by this game's mastermind to double-cross me a second fucking time.

As I came to my senses, I grumbled as I felt a throbbing ache on the back of my head. I think I was hit hard when I wasn't expecting it and knocked out, but I'm not sure who did it. Perhaps it could have been any one of the people at the fifth trial...barring Ms. Owari, of course.

As I tried to stand up from the chair to go to my dorm and get my notepad, I found that I suddenly couldn't. It was only then that I looked down at myself, and I sighed as I glared at my restraints. And my lack of jacket and shoes, what a pain.

Mikado Sannoji: "My wrists are tied to a bar behind this thing, and my ankles are tied to the legs...how stupid can they be? They remember that I can get out easily with Fortune, right? Typical humans."

???: "Yeah, we already knew that. I just thought that they would calm you down a little."

I looked ahead of me and saw Makoto sitting on his own chair as well, though not tied up like I was. I decided to take a quick look at my surroundings, and I found that I was in the laundry room. I must have been carried from the trial grounds after I was knocked out.

Mikado Sannoji: "What do you mean by that?"

Makoto Naegi: "Well, I know that you can escape easily, but it can hold you still for a minute and let me talk to you."

Mikado Sannoji: "If I recall, you called me 'unforgivable' and 'crazy' at the last trial. What cause do you have to want to talk to me?"

Makoto Naegi: "Because now that I think about it, Maki was right about you. She put the truth together, but her note said that we should keep you on our side. I'm willing to put the last trial aside - for now, at least - until we escape the killing game."

Mikado Sannoji: "Oh, so you've suddenly changed your opinion about me on a dime. Well, humans can be fickle like that, but shouldn't you be holding a grudge? Or did I strangle you too hard and it messed up your brain?"
