The next day came slower than normal. It was Saturday so I had no school today. I sat on my bed reading a rather boring book to pass the time. I couldn't wait until 3:00, which is when Dean was picking me up. Although it was already 2:45, it seemed as though the clock had completely stopped and time wasn't moving forward like it should. Suddenly I heard a tap on the door. I sprinted down the stairs in hopes of getting there before either of my parents. I swung the door open ready to jump into Dean's arms but I quickly held myself back as I realised it wasn't him. Instead, standing where Dean should have been, there was a man, about Dean's age, with golden coloured hair falling against his forehead. He had an exited smile covering his face. It was vaguely familiar, though I couldn't put my finger on where I knew it from.

"Hello" he said with a sarcastic voice.
Just before I could reply, I heard another set of footsteps come up behind him. I peered around the familiar face only to see Dean coming up the path towards me. I couldn't help but smile knowing that he was finally here. The blonde haired man turned to look at Dean. As Dean saw his face, his smile immediately faded and his face turned angry. I had never seen him angry and it was almost scary.
"You should leave now." Dean said firmly.
The blonde haired boy turned back to me.
"I guess we will have to meet again later. He quickly pulled my hand up to his face and kissed it before I could object. When I realised what was going on, I quickly snatched it away. He turned on his heel, smirking at Dean on his way out. Dean's face was now furious as he watched him vanish down the street. He then turned back to me trying to hide the fury and pulled me into a tight embrace.
"Are you ok?" He asked scanning my body up and down, "Did he touch you?"
I pulled his face up so that his eyes were aligning with mine and no longer searching my body for injuries.
"I'm fine." I said.
He smiled at me and leaned in close to my face. Just before our lips touched, he pulled his head away and shook it, much to my disappointment.
"We should go." He said gently, clasping my hand in his. It was a comfortable feeling, almost as if our hands were made for each other. Glancing once more in the direction the man went, Dean led me out onto the sidewalk and towards the forest. He didn't want to let me know where we were going but I was expecting something like a restaurant or bar, not a forest. Not that I'm complaining. I like the outdoors and anywhere I went with Dean would be amazing.
"Did you know that guy?" I asked as we entered the shelter of the forest.
"I have run into him once or twice before." He replied cautiously.
"Why do you hate him then?"
"He took something that was extremely dear to me."
"What did he take?" I asked, quite alarmed at the thought of a thief at my house.
"I don't exactly want to talk about it. I just want to enjoy an afternoon with the most beautiful person who ever walked the earth." He smiled at me.
My cheeks flushed red and I looked down at my feet, trying to hide my embarrassment from Dean.
"Please just promise me one thing?" I looked up at him curiously, urging him to continue. "Promise me that you will never answer the door unless you check first and know who it is?"
"Ok." I promised and pulled myself closer to his chest, once again melting in his arms. He wrapped both of his arms around me as we walked, leaning his head against mine.

After walking for about 10 minutes, Dean moved behind me, carefully covering my eyes and leading me forward. Seconds later he removed his hands from my eyes revealing a beautiful green meadow with flowers littering the ground. To the side was a beautiful pond with a small waterfall of water pouring into it. In the sky the sun was just about to set. In the centre of the field was a tall winding tree with what looked to be a small man made seat on one of the highest branches. He grabbed my hand and we ran to the tree together laughing. He helped me climb from branch to branch before pulling himself up behind me. When I reached the seat I sat down and Dean sat next to me. We were both breathing heavily with exhaustion and looked at each other. We started cracking up laughing. We talked for a short while until the sun began to set. We sat in silence as we watched the beautiful array of colours paint the sky where the sun had once been. Once the sun was down and the sky was dark, we began talking again and watching the stars. That's when I saw a big shooting star race across the sky.
"Did you see that?" He whispered in my ear.
"Yeah. What are you going to wish for?" I asked. I studied his face for a moment wondering what his answer would be.
After a second he replied, "With you in my arms, what more could I wish for?"
I smiled wide at the thought of how sweet he was. As I looked into his eyes, I brought my face so close to his that I could feel his heavy breath against my skin. To my disappointment, just before I pressed my lips against his, he turned his head away.
"It's getting late. I should get you home." He said sadly.
I didn't want him to take me home. I wanted to stay with him all night... or longer. But I knew he was right. My mum would freak out if I wasn't home exactly on time.

The journey home was silent. We linked hands as we walked back through the moonlit forest. When we got to my house, he kissed my hand and wished me a good night. I walked inside and up to my room. I plonked myself on my bed thinking about the night I'd had. From the blonde-haired boy, who Dean apparently had a grudge against up until the magical walk home. I came to the conclusion that that was the best night of my life. I couldn't have thought of anyone better to share it with. Not even my friends. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and read through my messages. There were a lot from Hailey and a few from Jake and Mitch, probably wondering if I wanted to do anything with them. I would have texted them back but Hailey and Mitch were probably sitting around a cozy campfire with no signal and Jake was probably out with his family for his dad's birthday. I wished I had of invited Dean in just to keep me company. I walked over to the window and looked at the street below. There on the sidewalk, looking up at my window with a smirk on his face was the same blonde haired boy from earlier. The rest of the streets were completely abandoned at this time of night. I quickly shut the curtains and headed back to my bed. I got my book out again and began reading from where I left off until I dozed off into a deep sleep.

I was in the tree again, wrapped in Dean's embrace, just as I had been before. We were laughing and talking together. Just then a figure appeared at the bottom of the tree. Dean stood up, balancing perfectly on the branch we had been sitting on.
"Come fight me Dean! You've waited so long to do so!" The familiar blonde haired voice chuckled.
With that, Dean leaped from the giant tree, landing perfectly on his feet. He then charged at him with tremendous, inhuman speed. To my surprise, just as he was about to tackle him, the boy dodged his attack, leaving Dean stumbling over his own feet.
"You killed her! She was an innocent woman! You broke the rules!" He screamed, tears pouring down his face.
"She was useless to the human race anyways." He said simply.
That took Dean over the line and he charged at the boy once more. This time the boy held his hands out in front of him. As soon as Dean was in reach of him, he grabbed his head and snapped his neck with one swift movement. Dean's now lifeless body dropped to the ground.
"Dean!" I screamed, my own set of tears now pouring down my face. The blonde haired boy turned to me and threw an evil smirk my way before instantly vanishing into the darkness of the forest. I had to get down to my Dean! My now lifeless Dean! My tears still poured down my face. I decided climbing down the trunk would take too long so I jumped forward feet first to the ground. Just before landing on the ground, my foot snagged a branch so that instead of traveling down to land perfectly on my feet as Dean had, I was about to fall on my head and I did. Just as my head hit the ground, everything went black.

"Dean!" I screamed as I sat up in my bed, tears pouring down my face. Sweat was seeping through my shirt, soaking the front and back. I went downstairs and got a bottle of water and returned to my room, taking small sips along the way. I changed into my pyjamas and placed the water bottle beside my bed. I checked the street below my window for the boy but he was gone, thankfully. Now feeling refreshed and a little bit better, I slid back into bed going to sleep with thoughts of Dean and I happily in the tree. Laughing and talking. After a while I was back to sleep again.
