My Dean was hurt! He wasn't back yet but Ariana had told me. A million theories were running through my head as to what had happened to him. I was still confused and shocked about the whole vampire, fey, realm thing but I was pretty sure that if he was hurt, he should have healed. Suddenly, two very strong looking people walked through the doors with a limp looking Dean in their arms.
"Tevit bite! We are going to need nurses!" One of them yelled.
Instantly, six nurses ran to Dean's side. I did too.
"Dean?! Can you hear me?! Why aren't you healing?! Do you need more of my blood?!" I asked frantically.
"No!" Someone said from the end of the common room.
He was very buff and had tattoos all over him and a bald head.
"Aleric. He needs human blood now or he'll die!" One of the nurses said.
"Then let him die. I won't have him drinking from my new toy again." Aleric said.
"What?!" I screamed.
"What's going on h-" She said just before she saw Dean. "Dean!"
She was next to him in a blink of an eye. She held the sides of his head and whispered something under her breath. She then took Dean's body and sat on the ground, laying him out across the floor, his head laying on her lap.
"What the hell did you do that for?!" Aleric yelled angrily.
I knelt down next to her, stroking Dean's forehead. Tears were now pouring down my cheeks.
"Will he be ok?" I asked quietly.
"Council members have a spell. They can only use it three times ever. It heals even the worst of injuries. I had a vision of Dean's death. I just didn't think it would have been so soon. I know that even with all the blood in your body, he still would have died." She said looking up to me.
They could only use their power three times ever and she chose to use it on Dean. That gave me an idea of just how close they were. His eyes began to flicker open. They were a dark Crimson coloured red.
"Jess... I think you should leave the room." She said calmly.
I obliged and stood up. I turned and walked down the hall and walked into the last door on the hall. It was closed but not locked. I opened it and walked in. It was even more beautiful than any of the rooms in the palace. Not that I had seen much of the palace. It was large and spacious with a beautiful chandelier hanging delicately from the ceiling. Directly underneath it was a wooden antique styled table. It was set for two and had a rose in the centre of the table. On one of the walls, there was a fireplace with a rocking chair in front of it. There was a small open kitchen with a fridge, a stove, a sink and a few empty marble benches. I walked over to the sink and noticed there was a brush, wiping down the dishes. It was incredible. It was moving exactly as it would have been if someone had been controlling it.
"It's amazing what you can do with magic." Someone said from behind me.
I swivelled around to see a man with black hair and a black outfit, just as Dean had been wearing.
"Ariana taught me that one." He said. "I'm Mark."
"Is this your room?" I asked.
"Yes it is." He replied.
"Sorry. I'm new around here. I can leave if you want me to." I said shyly.
"No it's alright. Also, you don't have to remind me that you are new. Everyone in the palace knows who you are and why you are here."
"Are you a vampire?" I asked.
"No! Don't laugh but I'm actually a faerie." He replied.
"I thought faeries wer-"
"Tiny, winged things. Nope. We are so misjudged in the Human Realm." He laughed slightly and walked over to one of the benches with a kettle on it. "Tea?" He asked politely. I looked back to the door, wondering how long it would be before I could see Dean.
"Not for about an hour." He said normally.
I looked up at him in shock. How did he know what I was thinking?
"Oh, sorry. I'm a clairvoyant. I read minds and see visions." He said.
That got me curious.
"What are your visions like?" I asked.
"I usually get them when I'm sleeping, in the form of dreams usually... Actually, no. Nightmares. I only see really bad things that are going to happen to me or the people I love. Some skilled clairvoyants can also control minds and read thoughts by the touch of someone."
I thought about it for a moment. Could my nightmares have been visions? At the tree, Daniel was standing right as he had been in my dreams. Could I be a clairvoyant?
"Yes. You are a clairvoyant." He replied as if I had spoken. "In fact you should have every power eventually. You'll be the single most powerful person on the planet."
"How do I use my clairvoyance?"
He looked me in the eyes.
"Until you are more powerful, people have to let you in. With humans it should be easy but anyone from the Fey Realm will be much harder." He said but his lips didn't move. "Yep. You are doing it and you don't even notice. You've probably done it a thousand times and just haven't noticed."
"How do I talk to you through clairvoyance?" I asked curiously.
"That's for another time." He said, this time through his mouth and not through his mind. "We've run out of time for tea now." He said and left the room.
Suddenly, Dean appeared in the doorway.
"Dean! You haven't fed yet! You can't go near her!" Ariana yelled from behind him.
He ran at me. I thought about moving, but before I could react, he had scooped me up into his arms in a big hug.
"I'm sorry. I should've done more to stay safe... For you." He whispered in my ear.
"It's ok. Dean, are you sure you are ok to be near me. Your eyes are still red." I said cautiously.
"I promise, I will never, ever hurt you again."
I grabbed his face and pressed his lips against mine. He returned the kiss and I could feel the passion running through his lips.
"You should go home." Ariana said.
I pulled away from Dean. Oh my gosh! I had forgotten about my family! They were probably worried sick!
"It's ok, calm down. We had someone go there and use mind control. They think you have been staying at Hailey's place." She reassured me.
I was half angry about them having used mind control on my parents and half relieved.
"I'll walk you home, just as I have done every other date we've had." Dean said lovingly.
"This has been one heck of a date!" I laughed.
We walked through the streets hand in hand. I hadn't seen the streets before. The last time I came through them, I was unconscious in Dean's arms and then Aleric wasn't too willing to let his new weapon leave the building. The Fey Realm was beautiful. The vines that creeped up the walls were covered in flowers and the paths were lined in precious metals and jewels. There were a few people on the streets... Fey, whatever you're meant to call them. All of them were very beautiful. Most of them looked like your average human but there were some that had pointed ears, different coloured eyes and some even had a tail. They were all very cautious of me. I assumed that most of them had never even seen a human, let alone watch one walk among them. Some came up for a closer look while others backed up or ran inside and shut their doors. One of the children came up and stood in front of me.
"Are you the human?" She asked.
Her hair was brown and was tied in a bun on her head. She had a tail sticking out under her polka dotted dress. It had an arrow on the end that was like the Devil's. She was adorable and I couldn't help but smile I knelt down holding her tiny hands in mine.
"I am. What's your name?" I asked.
"Alice. When I grow up I want to be powerful like you." She smiled.
I smiled back at her. I looked down at the garden next to the path. There was a bush of really pretty flowers. I picked one and handed it to her.
"I'm sure you will be." I said.
Someone else stuck their head out the door.
"Alice!" She screeched. "Get in here now!"
I watched her run off to the house.
"Look what she gave me mummy!" She said excitedly.
Her mum calmed and looked at me for a moment, then smiled. I smiled back politely and stood back up on my feet. Dean wrapped his arm around me.
"I think you have a new fan." He whispered in my ear.
I smiled and we continued walking.
