One last bite of the forbidden apple,
One last sip of the poisoned grail,
One last look at the ping of the phone,
One last slurp of alcoholThought it'd be enough,
To repress the need, I swore
Holding back is tough,
Oh my heart and mind ache for moreWhy did it begin?
I knew it was tough to cease,
I want to restrain, to put an end to this,
But can I really suppress and run away from the distant call?It grew inside me, this temptation,
For I couldn't resist when it was needed the most,
It clung to me like an anchor, we couldn't let go of each-other
Now it owns me inside outOh it's heaven,
Why do people call it a sin?
Even though it is wrong
It feels rightDominates me more than my own brain,
I still can't run away from it,
When will I stop myself?
"Never" echoes everywhereHas pushed me down an abyss,
I struggle to come up again,
How I wish I had stopped myself then,
But the inner devil won't permitNow I repent it,
I will rise above my addiction again,
Can't hold me down anymore,
Even if I will miss itOnly if someone could take my hand and
Shake me out of this nightmare,
I promise to run away,
And never look backI see a ray of light there,
Away from this tunnel,
Let's run away,
My future self takes my handI run away,
Not looking back,
Not being tempted again,
As I had promisedIt's been long enough,
I crave for it now,
It is too sweet,
Can't let it go nowI turn again,
Towards the impatient call of this temptation,
Deep down I always knew,
That I couldn't run away fromOne last bite of the forbidden apple,
One last sip of the poisoned grail,
One last look at the ping of the phone,
One last slurp of alcohol~𝖯𝖾𝖺𝗋𝗅

Summary-
This poem is inspired by "blood sweat and tears" by the boys. But as always, instead of cheating or copying, I wrote my own words. The poem talks about various addictions and is one of my favorite poems ever. It shows how you can't run away from an addiction. The main moto behind writing this poem is to show how, "An addiction can render you powerless but you still can't run away from it because it gives you solace and makes you YOU."
