𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟

Some scars that just deepen,
A long way to heaven,
A journey to yourself,
The map of YOUR soul

You have your own self,
Your persona,
Your shadow,
And your ego

You are nothing without them,
They are like masks,
That act like clandestine,
On the stage of your life

Your persona is your best self,
The best version of you,
The one that the world sees,
It's not the real you

Then comes your shadow,
Your negative traits,
The one that you push inside,
The traits no one wants to see

Your ego,
It's what you think you are,
Maybe a more perfect version of you,
Or just as you are

All 3 of them,
Comprise of who YOU are,
Even if you don't like them,
You can't run away
No matter how much you try,
No matter how hard you try,
You can't separate these masks for you,
You can only embrace them

Love yourself,
Love not only your light,
But also your shadow,
Embrace all the darkness inside you

It's who YOU are,
You can't change it anyways,
Loving yourself will make it easy for you,
To understand yourself better

You don't need anyone else to love you,
You don't need to love anyone else,
You are the one you should love,
Your shining, precious soul

Love yourself,
Not because someone asks you to,
Not because you were forced to,
Not as a favour to yourself

Do it slowly,
Take few steps at a time,
Don't be caught,
In this ceaseless marathon

Start by acknowledging yourself,
Don't wait for others' validation,
You are precious to me,
YOU. ARE. BEAUTIFUL.

Loving yourself isn't selfish,
It's important,
Be a first version of yourself,
Not a second version of someone else

Your faults and wounds,
Are beautiful too,
Don't let anyone,
Tell you otherwise

You weren't born to be perfect,
You were born to be real,
Don't hate yourself for no reason,
Don't be your own enemy

Don't judge yourself,
Don't starve yourself coz you're "too fat",
Don't hide yourself because you are "too real",
Don't cry coz you're "too different"

Embrace it as a part of you,
It IS you,
If you want to love others,
Don't forget to love yourself first

Be your own priority,
Put yourself first,
The world can wait,
But not you

This poem is based on "Map of the Soul" and "Love Yourself" by BTS. I did some research on Jungian theory since I was REALLY interested and this is how this poem was written. Keep loving yourself. Love myself, love yourself
