Glass Heart - Chapter Forty-Five

Izuku - now Deku - wasted no time jumping into action.

Hitoshi backed closer into a corner, hand held against his cheek (which had a light cut on it), as Toga approached again with a knife. Izuku immediately jumped between them, and batted Toga away with his baton.

"Damnit, I should've used my taser..." Izuku muttered to himself, before turning to Hitoshi. "You okay, Hito?"

"Yeah, Izu - I mean Deku." Hitoshi said, catching himself before he revealed Deku's identity to the villains. "Let's fight back!"

With Shoto fighting Dabi - Dabi seeming to go extremely easy on him - Shiggy fighting Shouta and Toga fighting Deku, things finally felt evenly matched.

"Wow, you're almost as cute as that other green-haired boy I saw earlier!" Toga squealed. "I hope I can keep some of your blood."

Izuku flinched at the weird remark, and tried to remain focused on the fight, using his baton to deflect her knife attacks.

"Hey Shiggy? Shiggy!!" Hitoshi called to the blue-haired, hand wielding man, who immediately lost all sense of calm once his non-consented-to nickname was called out.

"My name is SHIGARAKI-"

"Leave. Go back to your base, now." Hitoshi commanded, and Shiggy - Shigaraki - immediately spun on his heels and left the house. Hitoshi sighed in relief, and turned to Toga, still fighting Deku, and Dabi, still fighting Shoto. Shouta went to Izuku, recognising that Dabi didn't actually want to hurt Shoto.

Dabi growled in frustration, recognising that Shigaraki had left and they needed to retreat. In anger, he shot off a quick flame towards their target - Eraserhead - which landed on his forearm. He hissed in pain, and Toga took that opportunity to try and dart around Deku and attack Eraserhead with his knives, but Deku kicked her in the side with both his feet and used that motion to flip in the air, landing a safe distance away from her.

"Come on, Toga." Dabi yelled at her, before running from Eraserhead and the others, using his flames to propel himself faster. Toga glanced between him and Izuku.

"See you later, Deku! Oh and tell Izuku that I'll keep my eye out for him~!" Toga crooned with a sadistic smile on her face, before sprinting off.

The scene was quiet for a few seconds before everything went back into chaos and confusion.

"They just... left?" Hitoshi asked, glancing at everyone, confused.

"This attack was probably spontaneous - they caught me by surprise on my way here." Shoto explained, walking over to Shouta, and using his ice to cool down his arm. "And you can take off your hero costume Deku - or rather, Izuku. It's fairly obvious you're the same person."

"B - But how'd you know?!" Izuku asked, pulling off his Deku hood.

"Well... I thought it was obvious? It's you." Shoto said, turning to Izuku while he said that, with a confused and concerned expression on his face. Once the words were spoken, he turned back to Shouta. "Are you okay, Mr. Eraserhead?"

"... just call me Shouta." Shouta sighed.

"And call me Hitoshi now! After all, we've known each other about the same amount of time you and Izuku have known each other for!" Hitoshi cheered. Izuku smiled, seeing his cr- friend, and his brother get along so well. "Maybe we could even hang out-" At the look Izuku gave him, Hitoshi quickly adjusted his statement, "T - The three of us, could hang out together sometime."

"Sounds fun!" Izuku jumped in, smiling widely at them both.

"Y - Yeah..." Shoto responded, slightly in shock that he had such good friends. He quickly shook his head back and forth before going back to focusing on Mr - on Shouta's arm. "You've been severely burned. You should head to the hospital."

Shouta nodded and headed to the door. "Where're you going?" Izuku asked, a small frown on his face. "The nearest hospital is a thirty-minute walk!"

"I'm not going to walk, I'm going to drive." Shouta glanced at Izuku as if Izuku had lost several brain cells.

"... but you hurt your arm. How can you hold the steering wheel?"

"Oh..." Shouta glanced down at his arm for a second.

"... Hizashi!"

Hi everyone! If it's not been made clear, Shouta woke Hizashi up from being harmed just so he could drive Shouta to the hospital - true love at its finest XD

I genuinely love writing EraserMic so much haha!

Anyways, next chapter we should be getting back on track with the plot. I was able to work the villain scene I wanted to write with the plot - for example Shoto knowing Deku's identity, and Toga acquiring... something important (I will not confirm or deny any ideas in the comments) - but either way, I'll try not to go on tirades like that very often.
