As the alarm went off, alerting all students that the exercise has begun, both Izuku and Yaoyorozu stood poised at their delegated positions. Deku whirled out his baton and stood in the shadows, watching from the floor above, as Kaminari and Jirou entered the building. He had skilfully cut a small hole out of the floor, so he could peak down and watch the two of them undetected.

As expected, Kaminari ran ahead, determined to beat them both and win before either of them could stop him. With a flash he activated his electric quirk, and the entire building lit up. Jirou looked slightly irritated but was patiently waiting just on the outskirts of Kaminari's electric flow.

Luckily for Deku, he had Yaoyorozu. With her talented ability in using her quirk, she created two large pieces of material that will protect them both from Kaminari's electric powers. Deku quickly shielded himself as bright yellow cracks started to whip all around him, rocketing up the building. As predicted, the lightning focuses on the top-most floor, filling the area with a glowing light. Even though Izuku knew he was protected, he couldn't help but feel in awe of Kaminari's raw power flowing through the building.

And then of course – it finished, as Kaminari's power broke down, leaving Kaminari mentally zoned out. He goofily moved around, stumbling into Jirou, who caught him with a slightly irritated, but fond, expression on her face.

"Come on, let's head up. We probably caught them so-"

"That's where you'd be wrong!" Deku called out, using the voice effect Yaoyorozu made for him. Her idea was that when Izuku spoke into it, the sound would seem like it came from the opposite direction, which would allow Izuku to take Jirou by surprise.

And her idea worked perfectly.

Jirou spun to try and face where the threatening voice came from, turning her back to Deku, poised above and behind, on the floor above. He quickly slid off the material, and jumped almost silently down, wrapping the capture tape around Jirou immediately, pulling her to the ground. Within seconds, Kaminari landed next to her, also wrapped in the tape.

"Dumbass..." Jirou scoffed, keeping an eye on Kaminari, to make sure he stayed safe. Deku watched them for a minute, before Yaoyorozu slid elegantly down the stairs, landing next to him with a light tap of her shoes, as finally, the speakers roared to life with the words that make Deku's eyes shine with glory.

"VILLAINS WIN!" All Might yelled into the speakers, making Deku and Yaoyorozu cheer happily together. They quickly untied both Kaminari and Jirou. Kaminari was too out of it to understand what was going on, but Jirou smiled at them both, taking the loss very well.

Izuku placed a hand on Yaoyorozu's shoulder. "You did a great job. I would be happy to follow your leadership once you debut as a hero."

Her eyes shone with glee as she thanked him profusely before they both headed to the main area for the final comments by the other students, their shoes making gentle taps against the floor. They were so engrossed in their conversation over their plan and how well it worked, that they almost didn't see they'd arrived.

Shouta walked up to Deku and placed a hand on his shoulder, muttering a 'Good job' to them both. Knowing that because he looks like Deku right now, his father couldn't do more to show his pride, Izuku simply smiled happily under his mask, and gave Aizawa a small nod, whereas Yaoyorozu seemed to be bursting with joy as she thanked Aizawa over and over.

"Now now Aizawa. We still need to go over each of the students and how well they actually performed!" All Might interrupted. While Izuku understood it was part of the training, he wished he could hit All Might up the head right now – he was interrupting Yaoyorozu's growth!

"Now. In order of best to worst, we have: Yaoyorozu, Kaminari, Jirou, and finally Deku." He said, and Izuku struggled to hold back his anger.

"Why am I in last place?" He said, through gritted teeth.

"Why, because you did absolutely nothing! Villains are dangerous, they go on their own, they don't listen to others. It would have worked out the exact same if you'd never been there at all!"

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Shoto being held back by Aizawa. Knowing no one could see, he smirked slightly at the sight, wondering just how badly All Might would be injured if faced with the wrath of an angry, overpowered boyfriend.

He opened his mouth to reply to All Might's accusation, but someone else beat him to it.

"A- actually, if I may." Yaoyorozu interrupted, raising a hand. "Without Deku, I would have been unable to gain the confidence necessary to forming this plan to begin with. Not to mention Deku was the one who actually went and captured Kaminari and Jirou."

"Yeah, and I basically did nothing too. I didn't even use my quirk once." Jirou added, crossing her arms. "Denki short-circuited himself into dumbass mode to help me, and left himself vulnerable, for nothing. I should be in last place." She looked slightly irritated with herself, occasionally glancing over in the direction of the infirmary, where Kaminari had been taken. It was clear she really cared about him.

"But-!"

"I would stop right there if I was you, All Might." Aizawa's eyes flashed from the corner of the room, and it almost seemed like All Might deflated like a balloon, defeated. Izuku smiled underneath his mask – he loved watching people stand up to All Might's bigotry.

"You can leave now, Sir." Izuku said, watching All Might's facial reactions with an amused expression - seeing it twist into anger, irritation, frustration, hopelessness, and finally reluctance, before All Might turned and left the room. It was terribly amusing. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly, no one being able to hear from his mask muffling it, before turning to face the class.

"Let's continue the lesson, shall we?"

Another chapter done!

I'm honestly falling a bit behind schedule – something big happened irl that affected me mentally, but I'm still here. This book has been pushed back long enough, I wanna finish it for you guys.

I hope you're enjoying the book, even with the extremely slow updates...

Although I wrote this in advance, so I guess I don't know whether the updates are slow or not anymore... but either way, enjoy!

But for now...

Peachy out! 😊
