Abbey had been living in a protective shell the last several days. But today she had to go back to reality. She had to work 2 last shifts before she took her furlough before Jesse's open heart surgery. She reluctantly opened her eyes. She looked beside her. Jesse wasn't in bed, but she already knew that because she didn't feel him. All she wanted to do was lay in bed and cuddle with Jesse. That's all they've done for days, among other things. They were most definitely in the honeymoon stage, practically living in their bed.
"Its 5:00" She heard her husband's voice say.
"Yeah I know"
She sat up in bed to see Jesse standing in nothing but his boxers holding a coffee cup standing in the bedroom doorway.

She couldn't help but smile. Who was she kidding? She loved looking at her husband.
"I know that's not regular coffee in that cup" she scolded.
"Actually it is"
"Jesse, - "
" It is, with a spoonful of stevia and almond milk," he said approaching the side of the bed handing her the coffee cup "Just the way you like it"
She smiled brightly at him.
"Look at you, turning into a good house husband"
He sat on the edge of the bed next to her as she sipped her coffee and laughed at her comment.
" Don't worry just under a week before you'll have me turning into a housewife for you"
"Yeah"
"Hey everything's going to be fine, and I'm happy to be taking care of you"
She leaned forward and kissed him.
"I love you" Abbey told him
"I love you too"
She handed him the coffee cup as she crawled off of the bed, going to her closet to pull out a set of scrubs to get dressed in.
