So we have finally reached the end of Matters of the Heart and the end of Jesse and Abbey's love story. Thank you all for embarking on this journey with me. I had starting writing a Chicago PD fanfic of Jay with an original character when one morning i had this idea and then Matters of the Heart was born. This was my first real published fanfic and at times I had no idea what I was doing. I wasn't even sure if anyone would read it let alone vote on it. All of your reads, votes, and comments kept me going. I poured so much of myself into this book. Abbeys father, Liam, was based off of my own father and Abbey and Jesse's struggles with fertility and childbirth and infant loss was based on mine and my husband's own struggles so a lot of real emotion was poured into this book. As I'm writing this, Matters of the Heart is at 16,000 reads! That is unfathomable to me! The story I was working on before this one is a Jay Halstead x OC story and it will be a 3 way crossover between Chicago PD Chicago Med and Blue Bloods and probably at times a 4 way crossover with Chicago Fire. It's called Love Hurts and I will have the first chapter up by end of day tomorrow. And I hope you love that one as much as you did this one!
