January 2031

Jesse and Abbey had been married 10 years now. It had also been 10 years since Jesse's heart condition was diagnosed and had had that emergency open heart surgery and was doing just fine. He was 46 now, Abbey 45. They still lived in the Logan Square district of Chicago and loved it there. Jesse was still directing and producing his own tv show on NBC, still working with Patrick, and they were in the middle of their seventh season and still going strong. Abbey was still working in the Emergency Department at Rush University Medical Center but she was now the Chief of Emergency Medicine in the ED. Jesse and Abbey were as happy as ever in their marriage 10 years in and adored their 3 children, daughters Jaylee, 9; Lily, 7; and Emme, 5. They were both extremely involved in their school and extracurricular activities. Jaylee was a girl scout and Lily a brownie and Abbey was involved in their local chapters and all 3 girls were in dance while Jesse coached Jaylee's soccer team and Lily and Emmes t-ball teams and was thrilled that Jaylee was interested in golf so he took her with him as often as he could.

Patrick and Marina were now married. Patrick had adopted Maddie and he and Marina now had a son, Mason, 4. And Patrick, Marina, Jesse and Abbey were still the best of friends.

Ryan and Leah were still happily married but had decided to not have children. They were perfectly content spoiling their 3 nieces.

Liam and Brooke still resided nearby in Chicago. They were now in their mid seventies but involved in their daughters and granddaughters lives, and loved both of their son-in-laws. They were certain that Abbey and Leah couldn't have picked better men. Liam was involved with the local Fraternal Order of Police chapter and even volunteered twice a week at Chicago PD.

Abbey sat in the living room with a scrapbook in front of her and dozens of photos scattered all over the coffee table in front of her when Jesse walked in. He walked over to the couch where Abbey sat. He leaned down to kiss her.

"Hi sweetheart" Abbey greeted her husband.

"Hey Baby" he responded. "What are you doing?"

"I dug through all these photos. And I'm starting a scrapbook. "

Jesse looked down and picked up a photo.

"Oh I remember this one."

"Let me see"

He showed it to her and she smiled and nodded. "That was the night you asked me to move in with you" she said taking the picture from him and looking at it.

November 2019

Jesse had had a long day on set. His scheduled 9 hour day had turned into a 14 hour day and wasn't in the mood of going anywhere and doing anything. He had ordered delivery for dinner and had opened up a beer when there was a knock at the door. He expected it to be the food. When he opened the door, he saw that it wasn't his food being delivered but yet Abbey standing there with tears streaking down her face, she had obviously come straight from her shift at the hospital.
