I take a last swipe of my cloth across the back of my girls mustang before hearing the classic sounds of men witnessing a beautiful woman. Aka Delta entering the shop. I turn to see her chatting with the guys looking more like an angel than ever with still wet white hair, a bare face and jeans with my huge white T-shirt.
"Oh my god!" She screams finally seeing her 'darling'. She runs over and bends across the hood attempting to hug the damn thing.
"I've missed you I've missed you" I hear repeated over and over. I clear my throat to get her attention with no success. I catch myself laughing and smiling at her before realizing I'm in a room filled with club members and prospects so I check myself, straighten up and turn to make sure I haven't been caught. I see only Decker chuckling to himself at me so I decide I'm fine."Deck. Good work. Thanks for finishing this up man." I say in my deepest voice possible. Still laughing he nods.
"Mostly prospects friends. But she's good as new, all set for Cali." Decker finishes before turning back to the football game on the tv.
"What do ya think angel?" I ask walking around and grabbing Delta by the arms to pull her into my body and away from her car. Looking at me with big glassy eyes she nods twice and settles in to my hug.
"I'm confused. I wanted her back and finished but now....I'm glad she's up and running but I don't want to run... I don't want to leave." She says with a cracked voice. I tilt her head up so she's looking me right in the eyes.
"You can go wherever you want in this beautiful car angel. But no matter where you go, I'm comin too." I say with finality in my voice so she knows exactly how serious I am. She simple nods one last time, leans up and presses her lips to mine.
"Alright. Go on up and pack up some stuff for us, whatever you think will get us through six days on the road but make sure to grab a swimsuit or two. I can't wait to see that fine ass in a bikini beside the ocean." I say changing the subject with a quick swat to her ass to send her in her way. When she leaves the shop and heads upstairs I head towards Decker.
"So we can make it there in two days driving. Two days there and two days back."
"Sounds like a fuckin nightmare to me." Decker says with a laugh.
"Sounds like six days uninterrupted with my girl to me. Road with be tough in a cage and havin to keep my hands off Delta but two days in the sun will be worth it. My meeting with the Cali crew will take an hour, two tops. The rest is fuckin, drinkin, eating. The holy trinity my friend." I laugh out. Knowing that I'm putting on a front, knowing any club member could hear me.
"You got the notes from pres. You can look them over one time when Delta is driving. All we need to know is if they have our back and if they have any info of anyone crossing the boarder through their territory. Worst comes to worst see if they can spare anyone to come back with ya, help us stop this shit." Decker says before clapping a big hand on my back and leaving. He's never been one for goodbyes. I take a look around the shop, make sure everything's in order before heading back up to the apartment.
I find Delta elbow deep in a duffel bag. She looks up to me, her smile reaching all the way up to her eyes.
"I got out toiletries, some comfy clothes for the drive, some swim stuff and then a few outfits in case we decide to go out for dinner or something." She says resuming her task of packing. It's so fuckin cute when she gets all determined like this, there's absolutely no stopping her.
"Trust you angel. Thanks for doing this." I say heading to the fridge to grab some water, snacks and other random essentials for the ride.
When we're all ready I grab all three bags and head down to the shop.
"Wait... how are we fitting all of this on your bike?" Delta asks grabbing me by the arm.
"We're taking the stang beautiful." I say popping her trunk and loading the bags.
"We're taking darling!?" Delta screams. A few prospects laugh and I shoot them a glare that I hope says 'shut the fuck up' which must work because they all turn and get back to work.
"Yes angel. Can't have you and all our stuff on my bike for four days. But I'm drivin first, you can take next shift." I say opening the passenger seat for her. She raises and eyebrow and crosses her arms.
"No one except my daddy has driven this car and he only drove it into his garage for us to fix up." She says with her nose pointed up at me. Trying to act tough. I scoop her up behind the knees, hear her yelp and toss her into the passenger seat.
"Yeah well things are a changing baby." I respond while buckling her seatbelt. I can hear a slew of not very nice things coming from the car after I slam the door shut and head over to the drivers side.
"Don't worry angel, I'll take just as good care of her as I do you." I say before starting the car and heading out of the garage — on our way to California.
