Violet POV
"What time do you think you will be coming home Violet?" My mother calls me from downstairs. I finally find my strapless bra at the bottom of my underwear drawer and look at the clock on the wall."Probably around midnight, I'm not staying over" I yell back to her and hear her mumble something and go back to whatever she was doing downstairs.
This party is definitely not on my list of priorities for my Friday night, and when Conner told me about it a few days I actually declined until he asked if my reasoning was that I plans. It was then I realized that what the hell was I going to do on Friday? Nothing. So I gave in.
As I walk into my bathroom with my dress in hand I try not to think about the essay. I can't even bring it up in school without Conner changing the subject, which is weird in itself. I just don't understand who could have possibly written the story of what happened in my mind when I was in a coma. I considered thinking that it was Ryan, but that would be impossible considering there were things in that essay that I didn't even tell Ryan. A lot of things.
"You decent?" I hear from outside my bedroom door. Ryan came to pick me up for Mathew's party, which is also weird because why would I want to even go to this party at a guy's house whom I literally just met but that's high school I guess.
"Yeah, Im in the bathroom" I yell from my bathroom and hear him enter my bedroom.
"You almost ready to go, I want to go so we can get it over with faster" He grunts and I laugh,
"Ryan Howling doesn't want to go to a party?"
"Ryan Howling doesn't know why he was even invited by him" He comments back
"Who Conner? Why would that be confusing?" I ask pulling up my dress all the way and slipping on my heels. I only have a few party dresses, and their all for school dances so they aren't exactly fancy shmancy. The best one I have is a light gray dress that has a sweetheart neckline and ends just above my knees. Other than the fact that its extremely tight around my legs making it hard to walk, I feel pretty good in it.
"I'm almost positive he has something out for me" Ryan responds.
"That's insane Ryan, why would he?" I look at myself in the mirror real quick then open the bathroom door to my bedroom, "I'm ready!"
I watch as Ryan turns around and look at me with wide eyes. I awkwardly stand there as he looks up and down my body
"Erm Ryan?" I ask to try to get his attention. He immediately meets my eyes
"Yeah? Right. We should go" He stutters and I laugh as we head out
"You're not so bad yourself" I tell him and I'm not lying. Hes wearing a black tee shirt and black jeans with black and white converse. Its so simple yet he looks really good in it
"Okay Violet I have a question" Ryan says to me right as we turn on to Mathew's street, I can tell we have because of all the cars in a driveway about a half a mile away
"And I have an answer" I laugh but he just smiles, letting me know its a more serious question
"If Conner asked you out on a date, would you say yes?" He asks me and I almost laugh again but judging by his facial expression he isn't joking
"Ryan that's an insane question. Of course I would say yes, you know that" I tell him and we pull up on the side of the grass at Mathew's. He parks the car and turns to me
"Even though you barely know him?" He asks and I tilt my head to the side
"Yes. I would still say yes" I answer honestly and he visibly gets more frustrated
