Mathew POV

I leaned my back up against the lockers of the G hall in my school and mindlessly watched as people walked by, while waiting for Conner to show up for homeroom. Im honestly proud of myself for coming back to school, when I decided I would drop out a while ago I was dumb. Seriously, the only reason why I even wanted to drop out was to make a statement to my classmates that the school couldn't hold me back, that it had no power over me. That fun and grand idea only lasted about a week after I dropped out though when I realized no one really cared and that school wasn't that bad. And like I said before, I already did 11 years of it so I could pull through one more.

Right before I contemplated just heading to homeroom I saw Conner hastily make his way through the crowd, when he reached me I shook my head at him,

"Its about time you showed up" I started as we began walking,

"Sorry man, I was up all night working on that essay. Didn't even realize what time it was until my alarm went off while I was still typing. Then I had to go and get coffee, hence me being late." He explained all jumpy. We both know that the caffeine will only last him a few hours, lord help him then.

"So you did actually come up with an idea for it. I thought you texted me last night that you hadn't even thought of it yet." I said

"I didn't, but then I did and it's perfect," He started while we walked into homeroom. "And you know what? I really think it's going to help me deal with the whole Violet situation." He said to me and took out his phone, I looked down at it and noticed he touched the 18 paged document to edit.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I said astonished. He looked up to me and tilted his head, "What kind of topic did you pick that you could write 18 pages on?" I asked him. The confusion left from his face and he turned his face back to his phone and began typing while he answered,

"The coma dream" He said simply. Not thinking, I grabbed his phone out of his hands and put it behind me, he looked up to me from this,

"What was that for?" He asked,

"Shh, gentlemen, quiet down." Our homeroom teacher spoke. I rolled my eyes and turned back to Conner

"Why on earth do you think it is a good idea to write about the dream for this essay?" I asked him. I didn't even think if this was a good idea or not before taking his phone but how could it be good? I mean I guess it could be a good way to get it all out of him but in the long run he is just going to be re-living all of those experiences again through story.

"Because I wanted to, nothing bad will come from it." He said to me and I looked down at his phone.

"Conner you fucking wrote Violet as her first name." I whisper yelled. He rolled his eyes again,

"If I win and they publish it It's not like she is going to know I am writing about her, I mean first of all I never stated that this happened in the coma dream so even if she did assume it was her she won't find it creepy and also she didn't have the same dream as me so again, she won't know. Plus I changed her last name." He said and reached over to take his phone back, then put it in his pocket.

"I don't know man, I just don't think this is going to end well" I said to him and the bell rang so we stood up to leave.

"Look, I might not even win this thing because of the fact that it will be probably thirty pages long. So don't go all assuming that she will ever see it, because she might not." He pointed out and I nodded to him before turning left down the hallway to Government class.

This whole situation is taking a toll on me, and I'm not even part of it.

Sighing, I walked into the government classroom and took my seat at the back, putting my backpack down on the empty seat that has always been next to me. I looked up to the clock and saw that there were still three minutes until class officially started so I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through twitter when I caught something in the corner of my eye, or rather, someone.
