Conner POV

I drive up and park my car in the closest spot to the school. It took an extra four minutes of driving to find it but hey that beats an extra three hundred feet of walking.

Locking my car behind me, i begin to stroll into the school building. I see a few packs of girls here and there look over in my direction. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the admiration, but you see me every day, you know what I look like.

"Aye! There he is! Mister senior approaching" Mathew says coming down the hallway lifting up his arm for a shake. I pull him in and pat him on the back real quick before pulling away and laughing.

"Hey Matt, finally decided to come back?" I ask him. Mathew took a few weeks off of school, he was thinking of dropping out but I guess he decided other wise. Thank God.

"Yeah, I figured, Ive been at this for 11 years whats another right?" He said jokingly as we took our seats in homeroom. The announcements started over the intercom but I responded anyway,

"You aren't going to college?" I ask him. I love Matt like a brother but he's seriously making some dumb-ass mistakes when it comes to his future. He just laughed at my question but I shushed him when I heard the principal start to talk about the senior trip. When they were over he spoke up again,

"You seriously want to go to some museum?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. I picked up my bag and started walking to first period. Biology is always great in the morning, and Im pretty sure we had an exam today?

Well shit.

"Oh yeah, you're right I would much rather go to classes all day, you are totally right" I sarcastically point out. Matt just grunted and shrugged next to me, before we separated down the hallway to our classes

I was about to walk into my biology class when I bumped into someone tall. I looked up to see Ryan Howling standing over me with some giddy smile on his face. Ive seen this kid around before but had never really talked to him

"Sorry bud" Ryan said patting me on the shoulder as he walked away.

"Uh.." was all I got to say to him out of confusion, before walking into biology to endure yet another test. One that I was not ready for mind you. I usually just catch up on my sleep in this class.

"One more year Conner, you can do it" I mumbled to myself.

Violet POV

The week slowly crawled by but it finally got to Friday. The museum field trip.

I plopped down on a stool in front of the island in my kitchen and began to chomp away at my blueberry bagel in front of me.

I was a lot earlier this morning because of the fact that backpacks and books weren't necessary, making the morning a lot quicker to organize.

I was so early that my mom hadn't even come downstairs yet so when I finished my bagel I decided to go back to my room to kill time.

When I entered I peered around for something to occupy my time. Cleaning the room wasn't an option, its been clean since my birth. I never left anything laying around, it wasn't like I was a neat freak, I just didn't like a mess.

I looked at my vanity and figured I might as well experiment with some makeup.

After applying some eyeliner, thicker mascara, and minimal blush, my new-found time in the morning was over, and I needed to head out soon. Looking over my appearance in the mirror again I started to worry that It might look a little too dark. This was definitely different then my normal look but then again I am going on my first date after the field trip today, might as well go big or go home.

This was going to be a big day I can just feel it.

I ran downstairs and grabbed my keys from the counter before slinging my small drawstring backpack behind my back, the thin straps pulling the bag shut with it. Already I felt excited, not for the museum obviously but for the classes I won't have to make up for.

"Alright Im leaving!" I shouted to my parents before reaching for the door handle, not before my mom cut in,

"Where are your school supplies?" She asked. I shrugged,

"Senior trip today, no classes" I responded, moving closer out the door.

"Great, now you will have all this make-up work to do." Clearly not pleased with my answer. I shook my head

"Mom, its my senior year, let me have a break every once in a while" I huffed at her

"Violet! You can have a break when you are not supposed to be in sch-"

"Ill see you later" I interrupted leaving the house. So maybe I shouldn't have cut her off like that, but I wanted this day to be perfect. Ill be with Ryan all day, then the date. I have been waiting for my first date for a long time, but school would always be number one on my list. Not today though.

As I get in my car and start to pull out I get a weird kick in my stomach, telling me that its important to fix this encounter with my mom, and I suddenly began to miss her. I just shrugged it off and told myself to apologize to her when I got home later.

Within a few minutes I pull into the school parking lot and I see seniors already filling in buses, guilt turning into excitement .

"Here we go" I say aloud in the tiny air in my car before stepping out.
